BRABUS unveiled it on November 4, 2024, as its first Masterpiece motorhome, developed with Belgian specialist STX Motorhomes. The Mercedes Actros connection is reported by Auto Express; BRABUS’s own listing specifies the engine’s size and output but does not identify its manufacturer or engine code.
What the BRABUS Big Boy 1200 is
BRABUS describes the Big Boy 1200 as its first-ever Masterpiece motorhome. The company developed it in collaboration with STX Motorhomes, a Belgian builder of exclusive recreational vehicles. Its 12-meter body uses three axles and four electrically extendable slide-outs—two on each side—to expand the bedroom and saloon. BRABUS says the expanded living area exceeds 30 m² (about 320 sq ft), and the width reaches 4.50 m (14.8 ft).
Auto Express reported at the launch that the motorhome is based on a Mercedes Actros. BRABUS’s own materials call the engine a 12.8-liter, six-cylinder turbodiesel, but do not name Mercedes-Benz or provide an engine code. Mercedes-Benz Trucks lists an Actros OM 471 option rated at 390 kW (530 hp), matching the Big Boy’s published power figure; that match does not establish that this specific vehicle uses the OM 471. Auto Express’s launch report and the Actros product information provide that context.

BRABUS’s current listing gives combined fuel consumption of 20.1 l/100 km and combined CO₂ emissions of 456 g/km. The manufacturer describes these as approximate comparison figures determined under a prescribed measurement procedure and says equipment and configuration can affect them. They are not independent real-world test results.

Interior and onboard equipment
The Big Boy combines a two-seat cockpit with a living space intended for extended travel. The cab includes an electrically lowerable 160 cm bed. In the bedroom, BRABUS lists a 160 × 200 cm double bed and a 43-inch 4K television. The saloon has another 43-inch television, a PlayStation 5 and a soundbar.
Kitchen and bathroom
- Kitchen: Gaggenau induction hobs and oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, wine cooler and Quooker systems.
- Bathroom: Rain and hand showers, toilet, ventilation and heated flooring.
Power, connectivity and utility systems
BRABUS lists a 6.4 kW Fischer Panda generator, Victron Quattro inverter, 24-volt lithium batteries, four 320 W solar panels, a 4G antenna, a 4G/5G router with SIM and Starlink satellite equipment. Its published solar-panel descriptions conflict: the narrative says eight roof panels power onboard systems while traveling, whereas the equipment table lists four 320 W panels. The available specifications do not resolve the difference.

Other listed equipment includes a 360-degree camera system and heated, insulated fresh-, gray- and black-water tanks. The vehicle has a 290-liter diesel tank, a 60-liter AdBlue tank, a 3.5-tonne trailer coupling, 22.5-inch black aluminum wheels, a steerable trailing axle and four hydraulic leveling supports.
Price and market availability
BRABUS lists the price as “Price on request” and says the Big Boy 1200 is available only in approved markets. Prospective buyers are directed to make an inquiry. The company does not publish an official purchase price in its current listing, so a public figure should not be treated as established.
