The M2 M xDrive and M3 and M4 Competition variants are automatic-only. That makes these three the manual holdouts in BMW USA’s documented lineup—not proof that they are BMW’s final manuals worldwide or permanently.
Which BMW models still offer a manual?
BMW USA lists a six-speed manual for the standard rear-wheel-drive versions of the M2 Coupe, M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe. Their shared 473-hp output does not make them identical: the M2 is a two-door coupe, the M3 is a sedan, and the M4 is a coupe. BMW’s listings distinguish those base configurations from the automatic-equipped M xDrive and Competition models.

The M2 Coupe is the straightforward manual choice: BMW USA lists its six-speed transmission as standard. The manual car is rear-wheel drive. If you want all-wheel drive, the M2 M xDrive Coupe is automatic-only.

The higher Competition outputs therefore do not describe the manual M4.
