The BeTriton eTrailer is a bicycle-towed camper with electric assistance on land that converts into a small electric boat. BeTriton says it can travel 30 km on the water in ordinary conditions and may keep going in sunny weather when used intermittently—but those are manufacturer estimates, not independently tested results, and the published figures vary by configuration.
How the amphibious bike camper works
On land, the eTrailer is a camper trailer with a motor to assist its bicycle tow. On the water, it becomes a small electric boat; the bicycle is carried aboard rather than used as propulsion. BeTriton says it is towable by bicycle and describes a folding bike as the ideal choice for taking along during the water portion of a trip. The 2024 New Atlas report described a 250 W land-assist drive, while BeTriton’s July 2025 configuration sheet specifies a 250 W nominal e-bike motor. These are dated, attributed specifications, not confirmation that every configuration is identical.
How far can the eTrailer go?
There is no single range figure that applies to every build or journey. BeTriton’s undated product page lists up to 200 km on land and 30 km on the water under ordinary conditions, with water range depending on factors including speed, weather and current. The page also describes potentially unlimited water range in sunny conditions if the boat is used on and off, allowing solar charging during pauses. That is a conditional manufacturer claim, not continuous, guaranteed range.
BeTriton’s configuration sheet updated July 7, 2025 gives lower figures for its one-battery builds: 75 km on land and 12.5 km on water. New Atlas reported in August 2024 that two batteries could provide up to 150 km on land, and gave a water-range estimate of 25 km to unlimited depending on weather. The figures differ across sources and configurations; none is presented as an independent test result.

Power, batteries and solar
BeTriton’s current product page lists a 2,150 W maximum boat motor at 48 V, a maximum boat speed of up to 8 km/h, two 1.44 kWh LiFePO4 batteries (2.88 kWh combined), and a flexible 100 W solar panel. The speed is a manufacturer specification and can vary with conditions. New Atlas’s August 2024 report described a 200 W panel, whereas the current product page lists 100 W; the sources do not establish why the published panel rating differs.
What the 2025 Slim and Mid configurations include
BeTriton’s configuration and pricing sheet, updated July 7, 2025, lists two versions. Its prices are for private customers, include 21% VAT and exclude packaging and shipping; they are historical published prices, not confirmed 2026 prices.

The 2025 sheet presents separate payload limits for towing and for boating or camping, so do not treat one payload number as interchangeable across uses. Check the exact configuration sheet and its limits before loading the trailer. The sheet’s stated one-battery ranges also should not be combined with the current product page’s two-battery specification as though they described the same build.
Can you tow it with a regular bicycle?
The concept is designed around bicycle towing with its own land-assist drive, rather than requiring the towing bike itself to be an e-bike. But this is a large, heavy trailer, not a conventional lightweight touring camper. BeTriton’s undated product page lists 190 kg unloaded without batteries, while its July 2025 price sheet lists 170 kg for Slim and 180 kg for Mid, also excluding batteries. These figures reflect differing published specifications or configurations and should not be silently reconciled. Confirm the selected model’s weight, towing limits and payload with the manufacturer, and assess whether the bicycle, route and local rules are suitable.

Sleeping space and practical use
BeTriton lists an interior sleeping area of 0.97 × 2.1 m and says it can sleep two adults. The sleeping mat is optional, so the dimensions should be checked against any pad chosen for the cabin. The compact sleeping area makes the eTrailer a specialized shelter for short trips rather than a roomy conventional caravan.

BeTriton describes the craft as suitable for inland and coastal waters, but its FAQ says it is not designed for ocean waves and that some parts are not made for saline water. “Coastal” therefore should not be read as open-ocean or surf capability. The product page also says registration may be required in some countries; check the relevant local boating and road rules before travel.
