A full-flow PTFE AN hose-end system is one option for performance plumbing, but fittings alone cannot guarantee more power or make an otherwise undersized fuel system flow better.
What makes a performance fuel fitting the right choice?
Fuel plumbing works as a matched assembly: the hose, hose end, adapter, and component port must all suit one another and the operating conditions. A fitting described as “high-flow” is not proof of a measured flow improvement in your complete system. Compare documented internal-bore or design information where available, and treat maker descriptions as product claims rather than independent test results.
Before choosing a product, identify the hose construction and size, the connection at each component, the fuel being used, and the system’s pressure and temperature requirements. Parker’s industrial hose safety guidance explains why pressure, fluid compatibility, and service conditions all matter; compatibility by itself does not settle every concern, including permeation.
Choose the connection and hose as a system
Match the hose end to the exact hose
AN hose ends are made for particular hose constructions and sizes. A reusable PTFE hose end, for example, is not interchangeable with an end intended for push-lock hose or a crimped assembly. Follow the fitting maker’s specified hose pairing and assembly method. Redhorse Performance provides technical support resources covering hose specifications, assembly instructions, thread guides, and tools; Holley also offers AN plumbing and hose support.

Identify the component port before buying adapters
AN, NPT, and other connection standards are not interchangeable just because their threads may appear similar. Confirm the port type on the pump, regulator, rail, filter, or other component, then select a matching connection or a purpose-made adapter. Do not force mismatched threads together.
Keep fuel and service limits product-specific
Check the precise hose, fitting, and seal specifications for the fuel and temperature you intend to run, as well as the required working pressure. Compatibility statements apply to the named product line, not automatically to another manufacturer’s hose or fitting. Aeroflow’s Catalogue v15, for example, includes application guidance and product-specific compatibility cautions. Use the exact maker’s published specifications for your chosen assembly.

How to choose a fuel-line size
There is no universal AN line size that suits every engine. The correct size depends on the engine and the complete fuel-system design and operating conditions; choosing a bigger line by rule of thumb is not a substitute for sizing the system. Determine requirements for the specific application and verify that the hose, fittings, adapters, and connected components are all suitable. The product ranges below show available sizes, not a universal recommendation.
When to use straight or angled AN fittings
Choose the fitting angle to produce a natural route with adequate clearance and service access. A straight end may suit a direct run; an angled end may help route a line around nearby components. Neither is inherently better for flow in every installation. Check the hose maker’s bend-radius guidance, and do not force a tight bend to make an angle fit. Also account for heat, abrasion, and the ability to inspect or service the connection.

Product examples: full-flow PTFE AN hose ends
Nuke Performance publishes a Full Flow PTFE hose-end range in AN-6, AN-8, AN-10, and AN-12, with straight and angled versions, plus a matching PTFE fuel hose. These are manufacturer-listed sizes and options, not proof of fitment for an unspecified vehicle. Nuke’s product pages also publish product-specific compatibility and temperature claims; verify the exact model and specification before relying on them for your application.
JHI describes its PROBlack DR PTFE smooth-bore hose and fittings as designed for high-flow motorsport connections and publishes product dimensions and operating specifications. This is another maker’s product-specific design claim, not an independent comparison. For any option, compare published bore details and ratings rather than treating “full flow” or “high flow” wording as a measured result.

Compare options on the details that affect your build

Assemble and inspect according to the fitting maker
Assembly procedures and tools vary among reusable PTFE, push-lock, crimp, and other hose systems. Use the instructions for the exact fitting and hose rather than applying one system’s method to another. Nuke lists AN wrenches and vise jaws among accessories for its cited product family, while Redhorse provides assembly and tool resources; tool requirements depend on the system selected. After installation, inspect the completed plumbing and verify that the fuel system is leak-free before operating the vehicle.
