Will the EPA range be enough for a highway trip?
Not necessarily. EPA-estimated range is a useful basis for comparing vehicles, but a rated figure should not be treated as the distance an EV will cover at sustained highway speed before needing a charge. Hyundai says its estimates are based on a fully charged battery and that actual range varies with options, driving conditions and habits, vehicle and battery condition, and other factors (Hyundai electric models).

Does the EPA’s 2025 MPGe result mean a car has the longest range?
No. MPGe is a fuel-economy measure, not a distance-per-charge rating. In the EPA’s February 2026 2025 EPA Automotive Trends Report, the Lucid Air Pure RWD is listed at 144.8 MPGe as the highest real-world fuel-economy vehicle in the report’s preliminary 2025 model-year entries. That result does not make it the longest-range car: the report’s MPGe value and a vehicle’s range in miles describe different things. The EPA also distinguishes its report’s estimated real-world fuel-economy values from the fuel-economy label values at the time of sale.
