The best highway scooter depends on the speeds you need to maintain, your local rules, and how much wind protection and luggage you want. In the manufacturer information reviewed here, Honda’s Forza 750 has the clearest highway-focused positioning; Suzuki’s Burgman 400 is explicitly framed for open-road touring; and the UK-listed Honda Forza 350 is a smaller option whose published maximum speed should be weighed carefully against your intended highway pace. These are specification-based candidates, not independently road-tested rankings.
Which scooters are worth considering for highway use?
These models are not a universal ranking: the official specifications come from different markets, and local highway access, licensing rules, and availability vary. Use the comparison to narrow your shortlist, then check the official listing for your country and compare the published figures with the speeds and conditions you actually face.
| Model and market evidence | Published performance | Wind protection and touring equipment | Braking, aids, and storage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Honda Forza 750 — Honda UK product page; no explicit model-year label in the opened content | 745 cc parallel twin; 43 kW at 6,750 rpm and 69 Nm at 4,750 rpm. Honda states 27.8 km/L in WMTC mode and a potential 370 km range; these are manufacturer figures, not real-world test results. | GT scooter marketed for highway use; DCT, standard cruise control, electrically adjustable screen with 120 mm of travel, and 13.2 L fuel tank. | Not stated in the cited Forza 750 page for this comparison. |
| Suzuki Burgman 400 — 2026 global and US product pages | 400 cm³ liquid-cooled single with CVT; 13.5 L fuel tank. No maximum-speed figure is stated in the cited pages. | Windscreen; Suzuki describes it for touring on open roads and carrying a passenger. | ABS and traction control; 42 L under-seat storage. Suzuki says it can hold two helmets, but fit depends on helmet size and shape. US page lists a top case and taller windscreen as genuine accessories; confirm fitment for the exact year and market. |
| Honda Forza 350 — Honda UK 2026 specifications page | 330 cc; 21.5 kW at 7,500 rpm, 31.5 Nm at 5,250 rpm, and a stated maximum speed of 137 km/h; 11.7 L tank and 186 kg kerb weight. | Electronically adjustable screen with 160 mm of travel; no cruise control listed. | Not stated in the cited Forza 350 page for this comparison. |

What makes a scooter suitable for your highway?
Match performance to the speeds you will ride
Engine displacement alone does not prove that a scooter can comfortably hold your local highway speed. Compare the maker’s published power and maximum speed, where available, with your intended pace, and leave room for traffic, hills, wind, and carrying a passenger. A brochure maximum is not a promise of comfortable sustained cruising under every condition. Honda lists 137 km/h as the Forza 350’s maximum speed, for example; that figure does not establish a suitable cruising speed for a particular road.
Assess wind protection and distance comfort
Screen adjustability is a useful feature to compare, but it does not predict wind buffeting or comfort for every rider. The Forza 750’s screen adjusts electrically through 120 mm, and the Forza 350’s through 160 mm, according to Honda UK. Suzuki lists a windscreen for the Burgman 400. Rider height, helmet, posture, weather, and road conditions also affect how the setup feels; the cited manufacturer pages do not establish comparative comfort through independent testing.

Check storage, passenger use, and safety equipment
The Burgman 400 has the clearest documented built-in luggage figure in this group: 42 L under the seat. Suzuki qualifies its two-helmet claim because helmet size and shape affect fit. Its US page also lists a top case and taller windscreen as genuine accessories, but verify the year, trim, rack, mounting hardware, and local availability before buying. Suzuki documents ABS and traction control on the Burgman 400. These are rider aids, not guarantees against a crash.
How the shortlisted models differ
Honda Forza 750: the clearest highway-focused option in this evidence
Honda UK presents the Forza 750 as a GT for city, back-road, and highway use. The 745 cc parallel twin is paired with DCT and standard cruise control, while the adjustable electric screen and 13.2 L tank support its touring-oriented equipment list. Honda describes its potential range as 370 km based on 27.8 km/L in WMTC mode; treat that as a manufacturer claim, not an expected real-world distance. The page does not carry an explicit model-year label in the opened content, so check the local configurator for the current version and equipment.

Suzuki Burgman 400: open-road touring with documented storage
Suzuki’s global and US pages identify the 2026 Burgman 400. The global page lists a 400 cm³ liquid-cooled single, CVT, a 13.5 L tank, a 15-inch front wheel, ABS, traction control, a windscreen, and 42 L under-seat storage. Suzuki describes the model for commuting, open-road touring, and passenger travel. Those details make it a practical touring candidate on paper, but they do not substitute for checking whether its performance suits your local traffic speeds.

Honda Forza 350: compare its published top speed with your route
Honda UK lists the 2026 Forza 350 at £5,999 on the cited page, with a 330 cc engine, 21.5 kW, 31.5 Nm, 137 km/h stated maximum speed, and an 11.7 L tank. The page also lists a 186 kg kerb weight, 160 mm electric screen adjustment, and no cruise control. The price and specifications are UK-market information; do not assume the price, equipment, or availability applies elsewhere. The maximum-speed figure alone cannot establish a comfortable cruising pace on your roads.
Yamaha TMAX 560: verify specifications before comparing
Yamaha Europe identifies a 2026 TMAX as a 560 cc sport scooter, but the product page available here did not expose detailed specifications. That is not enough evidence to rank it against the other models. Consult the official listing for your market for performance, equipment, and availability before treating it as a match.

What to verify before choosing
- Local legality: Confirm highway access, licensing, registration, and homologation requirements for the exact scooter and jurisdiction. The cited pages do not settle rules for any particular reader.
- Current local model: Check the official market listing for model year, equipment, and availability; a UK, US, or global page may not match your local version.
- Real riding needs: Compare published performance with your intended speed, passenger and luggage load, hills, and typical weather. Manufacturer figures do not establish real-world fuel economy, range, comfort, or performance.
- Accessory compatibility: For luggage or a taller screen, verify the exact model year, trim, rack, and mounting kit rather than relying on a broad accessory name.
- Independent evidence: The cited information is manufacturer material, not comparative road testing. It does not establish which scooter is most reliable or comfortable in actual highway use.
