How to repair a deeper dent before using spot putty
3M’s Bondo Original Filler directions outline a product-specific workflow. The procedure below summarizes those directions; consult the current label and safety information for the filler, putty, primer and paint you use.
- Clean the damaged area. Remove dirt and contaminants before sanding.
- Sand to bare metal and clean again. Remove damaged paint, primer and rust in the repair area.
