For the 2026 Crosstrek Wilderness, Subaru lists 225/60 R17 99T all-terrain tires and identifies Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires as standard equipment. The Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T G015 and Falken WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL are candidates to investigate, but neither should be treated as a universal fit or an independently proven winner.
Start with the Crosstrek’s exact tire size and ratings
Crosstrek tire sizes differ by trim. Subaru’s 2026 specifications list 225/60 R17 all-season tires on several trims, 225/55 R18 all-season tires on others, and 225/60 R17 99T all-terrain tires for Wilderness. These are 2026 examples, not a fitment chart for every Crosstrek year. Check the vehicle’s tire placard and the model-year owner’s manual before comparing or ordering tires. Subaru advises replacing tires with the originally equipped size and style. If choosing another brand, its guidance strongly recommends the same size and style as the original equipment. Subaru tire replacement guidance
Subaru states: “If you are going to put on a different brand tire, we strongly recommend that you use the same size/style as originally equipped.” Subaru of America Customer Support

All-terrain candidates for the Crosstrek
| Tire | What the available specifications establish | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T G015 | Yokohama describes the G015 as an SUV/light-truck all-terrain tire and says it has a Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) severe-snow service rating. Its current product page advertises a limited treadwear warranty of up to 60,000 miles, or 50,000 miles for LT-metric sizes. | Subaru identifies GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires as standard on the 2025 Crosstrek Wilderness, but that does not establish that the specific G015 is original equipment on every Wilderness model year. Check the exact OE tire, vehicle fitment and warranty terms for the size you need. |
| Falken WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL | Falken Tyres Australia lists 225/60R17 103H XL and 225/55R18 102V XL sizes. These nominal sizes correspond to wheel configurations listed for some 2026 Crosstrek trims. | The listing is regional, and a nominal size match does not confirm fitment for a particular Crosstrek. Check local availability, vehicle-specific fitment and required load and speed ratings. |
How to choose between them
Neither manufacturer’s product information establishes an independent head-to-head winner for Crosstrek driving. Choose by matching the tire to your vehicle and the conditions you actually drive in:
- Fitment and ratings: Match the placard size and the required load index and speed rating. Do not assume that a tire is approved because its nominal size matches.
- Terrain: Consider how often you drive on gravel, dirt, mud or rough trails, and whether the tire’s intended use suits those conditions.
- Weather: Compare the maker’s wet-weather and winter information. Yokohama states that the G015 carries a 3PMSF severe-snow service rating; that is a manufacturer claim, not a comparative test result.
- Everyday driving: Consider road noise, ride comfort and efficiency alongside off-road capability. The cited product information does not provide independent Crosstrek-specific comparisons on these points.
- Warranty: For the G015, verify the limited treadwear warranty for the exact size and read its terms; the advertised maximum is not necessarily the allowance for every size.
- Regional availability: Confirm that the exact size and rating are offered in your market before deciding.
Why Wilderness is a useful reference—not a fitment shortcut
The Crosstrek Wilderness is Subaru’s factory all-terrain reference: Subaru identifies Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires with 17-inch wheels as standard on the 2025 Wilderness, and lists 225/60 R17 99T all-terrain tires for the 2026 Wilderness. Those model-year details do not identify the specific GEOLANDAR model for every vehicle or establish that Wilderness tires are suitable for another trim. Confirm the equipment and fitment for your own model year. Subaru’s 2025 Wilderness features Subaru’s 2026 specifications
