What Ecclestone said about his children’s age gap
German newspaper BILD interviewed Ecclestone and Fabiana at their home in Gstaad for his 95th birthday. Ecclestone said Deborah had recently celebrated her 70th birthday; BILD described Ace as five. Deborah had visited her father in Gstaad before his birthday, according to the report. The interview presents a striking contrast between an adult daughter in her seventies and a young child, but it is a family profile—not evidence of a record or a broader trend.

Fabiana described the couple as a parenting team, saying: “Bernie und ich sind ein Team und wir erziehen Ace als Team” (“Bernie and I are a team, and we raise Ace as a team”). She illustrated the difference in their approaches with a household example: after Ace finishes his homework, Bernie is calmer when telling him to stop watching television, she said.

Fabiana also described the family’s screen rules. The BILD account says Ace can use the internet and a tablet, and watch YouTube, on Tuesdays. She said she thought his first phone could wait until he was 12 or 14. These are the couple’s reported household practices and Fabiana’s view, not recommendations for other families.
What the interview says about Ace
At five, BILD reported, Ace spoke Portuguese, English and Swiss German. Fabiana said he had skied since age two, enjoyed a wide range of food and especially liked sushi. She also described his interest in fishing and showed the interviewer photographs of fish caught at the family’s ranch. Ecclestone described him in the German interview as “ein aufgeweckter, intelligenter, wunderbarer Junge”—an alert, intelligent, wonderful boy.

Ecclestone’s recollections of his own childhood
In the same interview, Ecclestone recalled being born on his grandmother’s kitchen table in a small English village. He also said he began making money by buying bread rolls at a station and selling them to schoolmates during breaks. These are his recollections as reported by BILD, rather than independently verified biographical records.

Earlier family context
In a September 2020 interview with The Standard, Ecclestone’s daughter Petra recalled that her father was “very hands on with the baby” when Ace was an infant. She joked that she had never asked whether he did night feeds or changed nappies. That earlier comment offers a snapshot from Ace’s babyhood; it does not establish Ecclestone’s present caregiving routine.
