The two-week figure is a manufacturer claim for parked-vehicle monitoring—not a promise of continuous recording or a dash cam powered entirely by sunlight. In the US, Baseus says the camera needs car power while driving; its solar panel and battery support parking mode. Baseus’s launch announcement and US product listing describe the product and its operating limits.
What the PrimeTrip VD1 Pro is
The PrimeTrip VD1 Pro is a front-and-rear dash cam. Baseus lists 4K front and 1080p rear recording; its PrimeTrip collection describes the front camera as 4K HDR. The US product listing also specifies a 140-degree field of view, Wi-Fi, app control and an included 32 GB microSD card. Baseus’s PrimeTrip collection and US listing provide these specifications.
The system is not fully wireless: Baseus says the rear camera requires a wired connection. In the US, it also says the main camera must be connected to vehicle power while driving. Solar and battery power are for parking mode, not normal driving operation.
What “up to 14 days” means
Baseus advertises up to 14 days of parking monitoring. Its product FAQ qualifies that maximum as standby time when the built-in lithium battery is fully charged by solar power. The company describes event recording when motion or impacts are detected, so the figure should not be read as two weeks of uninterrupted, full-resolution recording. Solar power, driving power and hardwiring
Solar assists parked monitoring
Baseus’s US listing limits solar-panel and battery operation to parking mode. In a review published May 17, 2026, Digital Camera World likewise described the panel as a trickle charger for the internal battery rather than a source that powers the camera during ordinary driving. The reviewer cautioned that shade and garage parking reduce solar’s usefulness. Those are the reviewer’s observations, not a controlled performance guarantee for every vehicle or parking situation. Hardwire requirements depend on market
Installation guidance is not consistent across the regional Baseus pages surfaced for this product. The US listing says a hardwire kit is not needed for parking mode, while the Australian listing says parking surveillance requires one. Do not assume the US installation claim applies worldwide: check the instructions and package for the exact market and version before buying or installing.

Storage and other practical details
The US Baseus listing says a 32 GB microSD card is included and its FAQ says storage can be expanded up to 256 GB. Confirm package contents and supported capacity for the product sold in your market; the listed extra capacity does not make an additional card a requirement.
Digital Camera World’s May 17, 2026 review says its reviewer used the camera for a couple of months, found the front footage good in both day and night, and considered app transfer speeds unremarkable. These are that reviewer’s impressions, not a guarantee of results under all conditions.

Price and availability
Baseus listings surfaced at different US prices: $169.99 on the official product page, with $179.99 struck through and promotional messaging, and $119.99 on a separate Baseus security subdomain. Because the figures conflict and promotions can change, check the live checkout for your market rather than treating either as a current universal price. Availability can change as well.
