Where is the Assetto Corsa EVO open-world map?
KUNOS Simulazioni announced the map on December 10, 2024, describing a free-roam area in the Eifel region surrounding the Nürburgring. The setting is intended to bring the surrounding landscape and roads into the game, not just the Nürburgring circuit itself. How big is the announced map?
KUNOS announced an eventual landscape area of 1,600 square kilometers. That is a target for the landscape, not a confirmed driveable area or a measure of road mileage. 505 Games’ official free-roaming FAQ distinguishes the total landscape from the driveable area, explaining that the latter depends on the roads included in the landscape. No final road distance or independently measured playable area has been established in the cited material.
How is the Eifel map being made?

What could players do in free roam?
The announced concept extends beyond driving between roads. In a February 19, 2026 interview with Traxion, KUNOS co-founder and executive manager Marco Massarutto described plans for points of interest, special courses, navigation, interactive locations and AI traffic. He named possible locations including fuel stations, rental outlets, dealerships, hotels and restaurants, and said players would be able to meet friends online. Traffic would be customizable; refuelling, repairs and rentals could be optional activities rather than requirements tied to earning in-game money. Massarutto also said KUNOS’s stated 1.0 plan included 100 unique cars and at least 20 officially licensed circuits. That was a plan he described in February 2026, not a report of content already shipped.

Is free roam available in Assetto Corsa EVO?
The game entered Early Access on Steam on January 16, 2025, but that date was not the map’s release date. KUNOS’s December 2024 announcement had forecast the map for Summer 2025; that forecast should not be treated as an actual launch date. Steam’s Assetto Corsa EVO page
In the February 2026 interview, Massarutto said free roam remained in development and that KUNOS wanted to release the first map section as soon as possible, then expand it progressively. He said: “Free roam in EVO is not in danger at all.
