Are Any 2025 Harley-Davidson Cruisers Faster Than a Sports Car? What the Evidence Shows

Harley-Davidson’s U.S. 2025 Cruiser lineup has six models, and its published specs do not establish that they outrun a sports car.

There is no supported list of 10 current Harley-Davidson cruisers proven faster than a sports car. Harley-Davidson’s official U.S. 2025 Cruiser lineup contains six models, and the available specifications and reviews do not provide comparable acceleration or top-speed tests against a named car. “Faster” needs a defined measure—such as 0–60 mph, quarter-mile time, or top speed—before that claim can be checked.

Why the “10 cruisers” claim does not fit the 2025 lineup

Harley-Davidson’s official U.S. 2025 Cruiser page names six models: Street Bob, Low Rider S, Low Rider ST, Breakout, Fat Boy, and Heritage Classic. It does not list ten current cruisers. A ten-bike roundup would therefore need to include other model years or a different Harley-Davidson category, neither of which is specified by the title.

The manufacturer says the 2025 cruisers use three variants of its Milwaukee-Eight 117 powertrain, tuned to suit different model personalities. The Low Rider S and Low Rider ST use the 117 H.O. version, which Harley describes as delivering its most power ever in a Cruiser model. That is a manufacturer characterization, not a measured result against a sports car.

What the published performance figures do—and do not—show

Breakout: engine output is not an acceleration time

Harley-Davidson’s published specification for the 2025 Breakout lists 104 hp at 4,800 rpm, 126 ft-lb of torque at 3,000 rpm, and a running-order weight of 681 lb. Those figures describe engine output and vehicle weight; they do not establish a 0–60 mph time, quarter-mile result, or top speed.

Low Rider S: a review figure is not a car comparison

In its April 23, 2025 first-ride review, Rider Magazine reports 114 hp and 128 lb-ft for the 2025 Low Rider S and calls it the most powerful Softail motor in the range. The reviewed material does not give a standardized acceleration comparison with a sports car.

Horsepower and torque can help describe an engine, but neither figure alone tells you how quickly a complete motorcycle accelerates. A defensible comparison also needs the same performance measure, reliable test results, and a specific car benchmark. No such ten-bike comparison is established by the available model specifications and review.

What a fair motorcycle-versus-car comparison requires

  • A defined measure: 0–60 mph, quarter-mile elapsed time, and top speed are different tests; a result in one does not prove superiority in another.
  • Identified vehicles: give the motorcycle’s model year and variant, and name the sports car and its model year.
  • Comparable test evidence: use instrumented results with the source and test conditions identified, rather than treating advertised engine output as a timed run.
  • Careful scope: keep a result for a different motorcycle category, model year, or configuration separate from the 2025 Cruiser lineup.

For example, a 0–60 figure for a police-spec touring motorcycle cannot establish the acceleration of a 2025 Cruiser, much less show that it beats a particular sports car.

Which 2025 Harley cruisers can be named confidently?

The current U.S. lineup supports naming six cruisers, not ranking ten by speed: Street Bob, Low Rider S, Low Rider ST, Breakout, Fat Boy, and Heritage Classic. The available sources describe the models’ engine variants and provide selected specifications, but they do not supply matching acceleration or top-speed tests for all six. A speed ranking—or a claim that any one of them is faster than a sports car—would go beyond that evidence.
