The Arc Vector was not confirmed as a customer-delivered electric motorcycle when it was described as “ready for the road” in 2022. That phrase referred to Arc’s plan to place ten limited Angel Edition bikes with customers for a testing program, then move toward production deliveries. The report laid out a proposed route to production—not proof that the program or deliveries were completed.
What Arc announced in 2022
In an August 11, 2022 report, SlashGear said British builder Arc planned to release ten Vector Angel Edition motorcycles to customers. Those riders were expected to test the bikes on racetracks in the United States and United Kingdom, followed by beta testing of Arc’s human-machine interface (HMI) on public roads. Production Vector deliveries were described as a later step, with the program estimated to take about two years after Angel Edition delivery. These were plans reported at the time, not confirmation that the stages happened. SlashGear’s 2022 report
“Tesla of electric motorcycles” is a comparison in the headline, not an official Arc designation. The label signals the Vector’s positioning as a high-end, technology-focused electric motorcycle; it does not establish a direct equivalence with Tesla’s cars.
What the Arc Vector was reported to offer
SlashGear attributed the following specifications and performance estimates to Arc or reported them in 2022. They were not independent test results, and the figures should not be treated as current confirmed production specifications.

| Item | 2022 figure | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Acceleration | 0–60 mph in under 3.1 seconds | Attributed to Arc in the 2022 SlashGear report |
| Top speed | 120 mph (200 kph) | Attributed to Arc in the 2022 SlashGear report |
| Range | Up to 200 miles in city riding; about 120 miles on the highway | Attributed to Arc in the 2022 SlashGear report; no independent test conditions were given |
| Battery capacity | 16.8 kWh | Reported by SlashGear in 2022 |
| Weight | No more than 485 pounds (220 kg) | Reported as a manufacturer claim by SlashGear in 2022 |
| Angel Edition price | $135,000 (£110,000) | Reported by SlashGear in 2022 for the Angel Edition and program; not a verified current production-bike price |
The range estimates are particularly difficult to compare with tested figures from other motorcycles because the report did not specify a standardized test cycle, speed, weather, rider load, or other measurement conditions. The numbers provide a picture of Arc’s stated ambitions, not a like-for-like real-world comparison.
How the Arc HMI system was supposed to work
The Vector’s distinctive technology story centered on an integrated HMI, not just the motorcycle itself. The 2022 report described it as a system built around Arc’s Zenith helmet and Origin jacket.

- FULL SUSPENSION & HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES – Front and rear suspension help absorb bumps for a smoother ride, while hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power and better control on dirt roads, gravel, forest trails, and uneven terrain.
- DURABLE FRAME & ALL-TERRAIN TIRES – Designed for outdoor adventures with a rugged frame and aggressive all-terrain tires that provide outstanding traction and stability across dirt, sand, rocks, grass, and other challenging riding surfaces.
- ENGINEERED FOR ADULT RIDERS – Combining premium performance with dependable quality, this electric dirt bike is UL2272 certified and built for trail riding, weekend adventures, outdoor recreation, and off-road exploration for riders seeking excitement and reliability.
- Zenith helmet: A heads-up display for speed and navigation, a rearview-camera feed, connectivity, voice activation, and a wireless-key function.
- Origin jacket: Bespoke armored riding gear with haptic sensors intended to deliver alerts and feedback. The jacket was not required to operate the Vector.
These functions were described as part of Arc’s proprietary equipment. A general-purpose helmet or jacket would not replicate the Zenith’s display, camera, connectivity, or key features.
Arc founder and CEO Mark Truman described the HMI’s goal as “creating a system that can heighten the enjoyment of riding motorcycles and saving motorcyclists’ lives each year.” He also said future IoT connectivity and augmented-reality technology could make motorcycling safer. Those statements express the company’s aims and expectations; they are not evidence that the system has been shown to reduce crashes or deaths.

What “ready for the road” does—and does not—establish
The phrase referred to the proposed testing pathway: track use by Angel Edition customers, followed by public-road testing of beta HMI equipment. It should not be read as confirmation that the Vector had completed testing, achieved customer delivery, or entered routine production. The 2022 article does not establish whether the ten-bike program finished, whether production Vectors were delivered, or whether Arc still sells the motorcycle or its accessories.
For a buyer assessing an electric motorcycle, the practical questions are whether a model is currently available, legally registered for road use in the relevant market, and supported with clear charging and warranty terms. The 2022 account does not answer those questions for the Vector. It also does not provide independently measured range or a current, like-for-like comparison with competing electric motorcycles.
