Antic is a new electric mini-bike brand from Future Motion, the company behind Onewheel. Its first product is a seated, 1970s-inspired two-wheeler with a 750W hub motor, a claimed top speed of 35 mph and a software-assisted wheelie feature called Onewheel Mode.

The unusual part is not simply that the bike can lift its front wheel. Gyroscopes, accelerometers and Onewheel-derived control software help hold the bike at a selected wheelie angle after the rider initiates the maneuver. That makes the Antic more technically distinctive than a conventional electric pit bike, but it does not make wheelies risk-free or remove the need for rider input.

What is the Antic electric mini bike?

Antic was announced by Future Motion on November 19, 2025. The company describes the bike as a compact electric vehicle built around technology developed for Onewheel products, including the hub motor, battery, tire and self-balancing systems.

It has a low, seated layout, foot pegs and a 31-inch handlebar. The front and rear wheels use 11.5 × 6.5-6.5 Onewheel tires. At 47 inches long, 38 inches high and 18 inches wide, it is much smaller than a conventional motorcycle and is aimed more at recreational riding than highway transportation.

How Onewheel Mode works

Onewheel Mode is an assisted-wheelie system rather than a fully autonomous stunt function. The rider still has to shift weight backward, apply throttle and pull the handlebars toward the chest to bring the front wheel up.

Once the system recognizes and supports the wheelie, the rider mainly controls speed by leaning:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Lean forward to accelerate.
  • Lean backward to slow down.
  • Use the throttle to adjust the wheelie angle. More throttle produces a more upright position.
  • Press the button near the right thumb or gently tap the brake lever to exit Onewheel Mode.

The bike’s Lightbar changes from white to blue when Onewheel Mode is enabled and turns purple when an assisted wheelie is active. The feature must be enabled in the Onewheel mobile app before it is used. The manual specifically warns against attempting a wheelie with the system disabled.

Starting the system

  1. Turn on the bike and press the button beside the throttle to enable the throttle.
  2. Keep both hands on the handlebars.
  3. Begin using the throttle within 10 seconds. If the timer expires, the throttle disables and the button must be pressed again.
  4. Start in Beginner mode and practice on a clear, level surface before trying Onewheel Mode.

Sport and Ludicrous modes provide more torque and may make wheelie initiation easier, but they also leave less margin for an inexperienced rider. Beginner mode is the manufacturer’s recommended starting point.

Antic models, range and prices

Antic currently lists three versions. The advertised range figures are estimates, not guaranteed distances: terrain, rider weight, tire pressure, speed, temperature and repeated wheelies all affect battery consumption.

Model Advertised range Displayed price
Antic Standard 12–28 miles $2,100, reduced from $2,500
Antic Long Range 22–50 miles $2,700
Antic Long Range+ with Performance Treaded Tires 22–50 miles $2,900

The Long Range and Long Range+ versions are listed as $600 and $800 above the Standard model, respectively. The Long Range+ adds performance treaded tires rather than a larger advertised range.

Future Motion says the range estimate in the Onewheel app may be inaccurate during a bike’s first several rides while it calibrates to riding style and conditions. Onewheel Mode also reduces range because the motor uses additional energy to balance the rider.

Key specifications

Specification Antic detail
Motor 750W Hypercore hub motor
Claimed top speed 35 mph
Battery chemistry Nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC)
Sensors Solid-state MEMS six-degree-of-freedom sensors
Tires 11.5 × 6.5-6.5 Onewheel tires, front and rear

Estimated charge time 200 minutes Standard; 300 minutes Long Range, measured from 10% to 90%

The company’s FAQ gives slightly lower rounded weights of 66 lb and 68 lb. The detailed owner’s manual lists 68 lb and 70 lb, so those figures should be treated as manufacturer-provided specifications rather than independently verified measurements.

What the app can adjust

The Antic uses the Onewheel app for configuration. Available controls include:

  • Ride Modes: Beginner, Eco, Sport and Ludicrous
  • Lever Braking Strength
  • Throttle Off Regen Braking
  • Wheelie Angle
  • Additional Peg Angle

That last group of settings gives the Antic more adjustability than a basic electric minibike, but it also creates another reason to check the setup before riding. A change to wheelie angle or braking behavior can alter how the bike reacts when the rider releases the throttle or applies the brake.

Braking, tires and failure modes

Releasing the throttle activates regenerative braking. The manual also advises applying the hand brake gradually; grabbing it hard can stop the front wheel too quickly. That warning matters especially during or immediately after a wheelie, when abrupt front-wheel braking can destabilize the bike.

Tire pressure is another meaningful setup item. The manual recommends 35 psi at the front and generally 18–20 psi at the rear, depending on the model. Incorrect pressure can change range, top speed, tire wear and handling.

The Lightbar provides fault warnings. Blinking yellow or red indicates that the rider should slow down, stop and dismount. Listed faults include invalid startup orientation, motor stall, temperature problems, accelerometer or hall-sensor faults, over-current conditions and throttle faults. A rider should not continue riding simply because the bike still moves after an error indication.

Safety and where it can be ridden

Antic’s manual sets a minimum rider age of 14, with adult supervision required for riders aged 14 and older. The recommended maximum rider weight is 275 lb, or 124 kg.

The manufacturer recommends a helmet meeting ASTM F1492-08, CPSC, CE EN1078 or DOT standards, along with shoes that stay on the feet and grip the pegs. Additional protective equipment is sensible because the vehicle can reach 35 mph and assisted balancing does not prevent crashes.

Antic’s safety guidance says to avoid water, sand, gravel, dirt, leaves, drainage grates, sharp bumps and sudden changes in surface. Marketing references to grass or packed sand should not be read as an all-terrain or wet-weather rating. Water damage is excluded from the warranty.

There is also no single nationwide U.S. classification that automatically determines where the Antic may be used. The company’s FAQ describes it from its own perspective as a two-wheeled electric powered seated scooter, but state and local rules vary. Registration, equipment, age, helmet and road-use requirements must be checked in the jurisdiction where the bike will be ridden. A 35-mph capability does not make it legal on every public road or bike path.

Warranty

The standard warranty lasts 12 months or 2,000 km (1,243 miles), whichever comes first. Tires and the battery pack have shorter coverage of six months or 1,000 km (622 miles), whichever comes first. Water damage is not covered.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Those limits are worth considering alongside the price. The Antic is not a disposable toy, but it is also not a substitute for a street-legal motorcycle, and its warranty terms place particular importance on mileage, tire wear, battery use and riding conditions.

FAQ

How fast is the Antic electric mini bike?

Antic lists a claimed top speed of 35 mph. Actual speed and usable range depend on rider weight, tire pressure, terrain, battery condition and riding mode.

Can the Antic do wheelies by itself?

No. The rider must initiate the wheelie by shifting weight backward, applying throttle and pulling the handlebars toward the chest. Onewheel Mode then uses sensors and motor control to help hold the selected angle.

How much does an Antic bike cost?

The listed prices are $2,100 for the Standard, $2,700 for the Long Range and $2,900 for the Long Range+ with Performance Treaded Tires.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is the Antic legal to ride on public roads?

It depends on state and local law. Antic does not have one nationwide U.S. vehicle classification, so buyers must check local rules covering electric scooters, minibikes, motorcycles, registration, helmets and road access.

The Bottom Line

The Antic is a technically unusual electric mini bike, combining a 750W hub motor and Onewheel-style balancing hardware with a seated minibike chassis and assisted wheelies. Its $2,100–$2,900 pricing, 35-mph claimed top speed and compact dimensions make it more of a recreational machine than a practical car replacement. The important qualifications are the estimated range, strict surface limitations, local legal uncertainty and the fact that Onewheel Mode assists a wheelie rather than making it safe or automatic.
