The case did not remain in Chapter 11. On May 8, 2025, the court converted it to Chapter 7. That change is important. Chapter 11 generally provides a framework for a company to reorganize and continue operating under court supervision; Chapter 7 places the estate under trustee administration, with assets examined and potentially sold for the benefit of creditors.
Conversion to Chapter 7 does not, by itself, prove that anyone committed fraud. It also does not determine how much an individual customer, vendor, former associate, or other creditor will ultimately recover.

What was Radford Motors building?
The modern Radford was a revival of the historic British coachbuilding name. Ant Anstead, former Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button, designer Mark Stubbs, and business adviser and lawyer Roger N. Behle Jr. were associated with the revived venture.
Its headline project was the Radford Type 62-2, a bespoke sports car built around Lotus technology and styled as a modern interpretation of the 1960s Lotus Type 62 race car. Radford described the car as a highly limited, hand-built model with a planned production run of 62 vehicles worldwide.
Contemporary descriptions included a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 and different performance levels. The advertised outputs ranged from approximately 430 horsepower for the Classic version to roughly 600 horsepower for the highest-performance specification. Customers were also promised individualized specifications rather than a conventional mass-production vehicle.
Radford’s public-facing brand material continues to describe the Type 62-2 as a hand-built car available in limited allocations. That description establishes what the company marketed. It does not establish that every promised customer car was completed, that every deposit was properly handled, or that all vehicles described in the lawsuits were delivered.

The Type 62-2 project was more than a press-release concept. Stratasys announced that it had worked with Radford to produce more than 500 3D-printed parts for the project. The vehicle-development effort was also followed by the Discovery+ documentary series Radford Returns.

Those facts help explain why the venture attracted attention from car enthusiasts, television viewers, and prospective buyers. They do not resolve the later customer and business disputes. A documented engineering program and a television series are not proof that every vehicle allocated to a customer reached final delivery.
Readers who want the build-story background can look for the Radford Returns documentary. TV Guide has listed the series through Amazon Prime Video, although streaming availability and rights can change by country and date; the documentary’s availability should be checked before purchase or subscription.
What did former associates allege?
The bankruptcy became intertwined with civil litigation brought by former associates and customers. The complaints describe different transactions and theories, so they should not be treated as one consolidated fraud case. Pastor Pat Velasco reportedly sued Anstead and Daniel Bednarski in a claim described in reporting as seeking approximately $2 million. The available reporting characterizes it as a dispute between business associates.
The filing of a complaint shows that a plaintiff made allegations; it does not prove every cause of action or establish the final outcome. The complaint also reportedly alleged that Bednarski later wired $20,000 to himself. Customer disputes over deposits and undelivered cars
Timothy Tasker’s $101,000 deposit
Customer Timothy Tasker alleged that he paid Radford a $101,000 deposit for a Type 62-2 after discussions involving Anstead and Button. Reporting says he was told that deliveries would begin toward the end of 2022 and continue through 2023.
After he perceived insufficient progress, Tasker sought a refund in October 2023. He alleged that the promised refund was not paid. The dispute later resulted in a reported Orange County Superior Court default judgment against Anstead and Button.
Reports described the judgment as awarding:
- $101,000 in damages;
- $17,000 in interest; and
- additional fees, bringing the reported total to approximately $119,357.
An attorney for Anstead disputed the procedural basis of the judgment. The attorney said Anstead and Button were unaware of the case and had not been properly served or notified. That challenge matters because a default judgment is not the same as a trial verdict weighing the evidence after both sides have participated. It should therefore be described as a reported default judgment subject to a stated service and notice challenge, not as a court finding that Anstead committed fraud.

A separate dispute involved Florida surgeon Scott Katzman and Lamborghini Palm Beach. Reporting described allegations that the dealership paid $300,000 toward a road-going Type 62-2 and an additional $750,000 connected to a track-only Pikes Peak version.
The allegations said that the vehicles and/or funds were not delivered as expected. As with the other cases, these amounts and events come from litigation reporting and should not be converted into findings of liability without a final court judgment. The existence of a lawsuit establishes a dispute over the transaction; it does not independently establish that every allegation is valid.
What did Anstead and Radford say?
Anstead publicly described Radford as implementing strategic organizational changes while remaining operational and said he remained committed to the brand. Bednarski characterized the bankruptcy as part of a restructuring intended to strengthen the company.
Those statements represent the company’s and defendants’ position, not a judicial determination. They should be considered alongside the claims from customers and former associates, rather than used to dismiss those claims or to establish them.

Why the Chapter 11-to-Chapter 7 conversion matters
