Ampere’s owner manual estimates 75–90 km in CITY mode, which is the most directly relevant published figure for city riding. Treat it as an estimate, not a guaranteed distance: the manual says range varies with speed and load. Ampere’s 136 km IDC figure is a certified-cycle claim, while its separate 100–105 km real-world statement and ZigWheels’ 105 km user-reported figure are broader Nexus figures without disclosed, repeatable EX+ city-test conditions.
Which range figure should a city rider use?
For a rider specifically asking about CITY mode, start with the owner manual’s 75–90 km estimate. It is the only published range band in the available sources explicitly tied to CITY mode. It is still a manufacturer-provided estimate rather than a documented independent test, so use it to set expectations—not as a promise that every EX+ will cover that distance on a charge.

The other commonly quoted figures answer different questions. Ampere advertises 136 km IDC for the EX+, and says 100–105 km is the Nexus’s real-world range in a 2026 buyer guide. ZigWheels lists 105 km as user-reported range for the Nexus overall. Those figures are useful context, but neither of the latter two is a clearly specified EX+ city-mode test. The sources do not establish a single, independently verified city-range number under stated rider, route, speed, weather, and battery conditions.

|---|---|---|
| 136 km | Ampere’s advertised EX+ IDC range | A certified-cycle figure, not a direct prediction of city distance. Ampere’s product page. |
| 75–90 km | Owner-manual estimate in CITY mode | The most relevant published range band for a city-mode question; actual range varies with load and speed. Nexus owner’s manual. |
| 90–110 km | Owner-manual estimate in ECO mode | A different mode estimate; do not assume a particular commute can be ridden in ECO throughout. Nexus owner’s manual. |
| 55–65 km | Owner-manual estimate in POWER mode | A mode-specific estimate, not an independent comparative test result. Nexus owner’s manual. |
| 100–105 km | Ampere’s published real-world range statement for the Nexus | The reviewed passage does not state a test route, speed, rider load, weather, variant, or procedure. Ampere’s 2026 buyer guide. |
| 105 km | ZigWheels’ user-reported Nexus range figure | An aggregated user-reported summary, not a controlled EX+ city test; the range page does not give test conditions. ZigWheels’ range page. |
The mode figures are not contradictory in themselves: the manual assigns different estimates to different riding modes, while IDC, a general real-world claim, and a user-reported aggregator figure have different scopes and methods. They should not be averaged into a new number. The published evidence supports a practical conclusion—plan more conservatively around the manual’s CITY estimate than around the 136 km IDC headline—but it does not support a universal promise for an individual commute.

Why 136 km IDC is not a city-range promise
IDC is the certified-cycle range Ampere lists for the EX+. A certified figure provides a standardized product claim; it is not a guarantee that a rider will travel the same distance through their own traffic, route, speed choices, and load. Ampere’s owner manual explicitly warns: “The range of the product will vary based on usage conditions such as variable load and speed.”
That qualification matters because a city trip is not one fixed condition. A stop-start commute, a route with open stretches, a ride with a pillion, and a ride carrying cargo are different use cases. The reviewed sources identify speed and load as variables, but do not quantify their individual effects for the Nexus EX+. They also do not give a formula for converting IDC kilometres into a personal city estimate. Avoid applying an unsupported percentage reduction to 136 km.
The manual’s own mode table gives useful context: ECO is listed at 42 km/h, CITY at 63 km/h, POWER at 93 km/h, and Battery Saver at 42 km/h. These are the speeds printed in that manual’s mode table, not evidence that a rider will maintain those speeds on a particular road. The manual’s range entries pair CITY with 75–90 km, ECO with 90–110 km, and POWER with 55–65 km. It does not provide a Battery Saver range entry in the cited table.

How to judge whether the range fits your commute
Start with the distance you actually need
Work out the complete distance between charging opportunities, not just the one-way trip. Include the return leg and any regular errands or detours that are part of the same riding day. Compare that requirement with the manual’s CITY estimate, not the IDC figure, if you expect to ride mainly in CITY mode.
Do not treat the top of a published band as a guaranteed target. If your ordinary day is close to the estimate’s upper end, the source material does not establish that the scooter will reliably cover it under your conditions. The prudent next step is to obtain a test ride or owner observation that resembles your actual use, or to ensure you have a practical charging opportunity before relying on the full distance.
Match the comparison to your riding pattern
When evaluating a claimed range, ask whether the mode and pace resemble how you intend to ride. A CITY-mode estimate is more relevant to a CITY-mode commute than the ECO estimate, but the manual does not publish the exact test route or conditions behind its bands. If your journey includes sustained faster riding, heavy stop-start traffic, hills, a pillion, or cargo, those conditions should be reflected in any comparison you trust. The sources do not establish a numeric adjustment for any of them.

Battery condition and tyre pressure are also sensible items to record when comparing rides, but the available sources do not quantify their impact on Nexus range. Do not turn those checks into an invented kilometre penalty. Instead, keep them consistent when making a personal comparison so that a change in range is not casually attributed to riding mode alone.

Use a personal route check, not a generic conversion
If you can ride an EX+ on your regular route, make the comparison as repeatable as possible. Use the mode you expect to use, the same route in both directions if practical, and a similar rider and cargo load. Record the date, route, mode, approximate pace, traffic, weather, tyre condition, and the battery indication at the beginning and end. Repeat on another comparable ride before treating one result as representative.
This is a practical observation, not a laboratory range test. A dashboard estimate or battery indicator should not be mistaken for a controlled measurement unless its measurement method is known. The purpose is to learn whether your usual trip leaves a comfortable charging plan—not to claim an official range result or extrapolate a single short ride to all conditions.

What the manufacturer and aggregator figures do—and do not—show
Ampere’s 100–105 km statement
Ampere’s 2026 guide calls 100–105 km the Nexus’s real-world range. Attribute that number to the manufacturer. In the reviewed passage, Ampere does not specify the variant, route, rider weight, speed, weather, or test procedure behind the claim. It therefore cannot settle the narrower question of how far an EX+ will go in CITY mode for a particular rider.
ZigWheels’ 105 km listing
ZigWheels lists 105 km as a user-reported range for the Nexus overall and also lists 136 km per charge as the claimed figure. Its page does not state controlled range-test conditions. The 105 km entry is thus a reported summary, not a reproducible city-range result for the EX+ variant.
Ampere’s 65 km testimonial
Ampere’s product page carries a testimonial attributed to Ramesh K of Nagpur: “Took it on a 65km round trip last Sunday. Came back with charge to spare.” It is a manufacturer-hosted rider anecdote, not an independently verified test. The testimonial does not give enough information about mode, speed, load, route, weather, or remaining charge to generalize it into a typical range figure.

Each figure can be reported accurately when its source and limits stay attached. None should be converted into a blanket guarantee by omitting its context.
EX+ specifications that provide context, not a range answer
Ampere’s current Nexus EX+ product page lists a 3 kWh battery, four riding modes, 93 kph top speed, and 136 km IDC range. It also lists 3.10 hours for charging from 0% to 80% and a battery warranty of 5 years or 75,000 km. These are the specifications and terms shown on the current product page; they do not establish real-world range in city use.
The owner manual identifies a 3 kWh, 51.2 V LFP battery. Its mode table lists CITY, ECO, POWER, and Battery Saver, while the current product page lists four modes without the same detailed mode table in the information cited here. The manual and current page also differ in some listed motor and mode details. Because their specification contexts are not fully reconciled, do not combine them into one supposedly definitive specification set; use the current product page for current advertised EX+ specifications and the manual for the manual’s mode-specific estimates.
Product specifications, availability, and warranty terms can vary by market or change over time. Confirm the exact EX+ variant and current terms with Ampere before purchase; a specification page is not a substitute for the warranty document applicable to the vehicle being sold.
A practical answer for buyers
If your question is specifically “What is the real range of the Ampere Nexus EX+ in city mode?”, the most defensible direct answer is: the owner manual estimates 75–90 km in CITY mode, but actual range depends on conditions and the sources do not provide an independent, repeatable EX+ city test. The 136 km IDC figure is a different kind of claim. Ampere’s 100–105 km broad real-world statement and ZigWheels’ 105 km user-reported Nexus figure should be read with their stated limitations, not treated as confirmation of a city-mode guarantee.
For a buying decision, compare your full day’s route with the CITY-mode band, then verify against a test ride or observations made under conditions close to your own. If your route is near the upper end, depends on high-speed riding, or leaves little room for an unexpected detour, the published figures alone cannot establish that the EX+ will complete it without charging. Build a charging plan around the actual commute rather than relying on the largest headline number.
