If you’re shopping for a 2024 Toyota Camry, the strongest alternatives supported by comparable year-specific figures here are the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Hyundai Sonata. The Accord stands out for rear-seat room and a hybrid option, the Altima for available all-wheel drive, and the Sonata for its range of engine choices, including a high-output N Line. These are useful starting points, not a verified ranking of ten cars: comparable 2024 specifications for seven more candidates are not established here.
How to use this shortlist
Compare 2024 model-year cars at equivalent trim and drivetrain, rather than treating a nameplate’s best figure as typical of every version. The figures below come from manufacturer comparison pages: Toyota’s Camry comparisons and Honda’s U.S. Accord comparisons. They are useful reference points, but neither automaker’s competitive verdict is an independent road test. Toyota’s Camry-versus-Altima page credits JATO Dynamics for comparison data and cautions that the data may not be comprehensive or use identical terminology.
For a used-car purchase, the original specification is only one part of the decision. Check the specific car’s equipment, service history, condition, recall status, and local asking price; no current used-market prices or vehicle-specific recall information are established by these comparisons.
2024 Honda Accord: the space-and-hybrid alternative
The Accord is the clearest direct alternative if you want a hybrid sedan or more measured rear-seat and cargo space. Toyota’s 2024 hybrid comparison lists 204 net hp for the Accord Hybrid system, versus 208 net hp for the Camry Hybrid. Its EPA-estimated combined fuel economy depends on trim: Toyota lists 48 mpg for the Accord EX-L Hybrid and 44 mpg for other Accord Hybrid trims. The same page lists 52 mpg for Camry LE Hybrid and 46 mpg for other Camry Hybrid trims. These are manufacturer-reported EPA estimates, not promises of real-world consumption.

Honda’s 2024 comparison pages report 40.8 inches of rear legroom for the Accord. Its comparison with the Sonata lists 16.7 cubic feet of cargo volume. If evaluating the hybrid on a used lot, verify the precise trim and equipment rather than assuming every Accord Hybrid has the EX-L’s fuel-economy estimate.
Toyota’s hybrid comparison lists starting MSRPs of $28,855 for Camry LE Hybrid and $32,195 for Accord Hybrid, as well as a 10-year/150,000-mile Camry hybrid battery warranty. Those are original-market figures and warranty information presented by Toyota, not a current used-price comparison or confirmation that a particular used car remains covered. Verify the applicable Honda and Toyota documentation and the vehicle’s warranty eligibility before using them to decide.

2024 Nissan Altima: consider it if you want AWD
The Altima’s main distinction in this comparison is that it was offered in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, according to Toyota’s 2024 Camry-versus-Altima page. That makes it a candidate for buyers who want an AWD midsize sedan rather than the hybrid-versus-hybrid comparison that defines the Camry and Accord match-up.
Toyota lists the Altima’s 2.5-liter engine at 188 hp and reports FWD fuel economy of up to 27 mpg city, 39 highway and 32 combined. Honda’s Accord-versus-Altima comparison also lists 188 hp and 27/39/32 mpg for Altima S/SV. Do not apply those figures to every trim or to the AWD version. Honda’s comparison lists 35.2 inches of Altima rear legroom, compared with 40.8 inches for Accord.

Toyota’s comparison also mentions a turbocharged 2.0-liter Altima variant. Confirm the engine, drivetrain and equipment on the specific 2024 car against its original window sticker or Nissan documentation; the cited figures do not establish a complete trim-by-trim comparison.
2024 Hyundai Sonata: more engine variety, including N Line
The Sonata offers a wider spread of engine outputs in the comparison data: Honda lists 191 hp for the 2.5-liter engine and 290 hp for the 2.5-liter turbocharged N Line. Its table gives the SEL FWD an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city, 36 highway and 29 combined, while the N Line is listed at 23/32/27 mpg. These are distinct versions with different power and fuel-economy priorities, not interchangeable Sonata figures.

Honda’s comparison reports 34.8 inches of rear legroom and 15.6 cubic feet of cargo volume for the Sonata, versus 40.8 inches and 16.7 cubic feet, respectively, for the Accord. The figures are from Honda’s U.S. competitive comparison, so check the exact trims and measurement conventions when comparing cars in person.

The Legacy and K5 are plausible midsize-sedan candidates, but the available year-specific material does not provide enough official 2024 specifications to make a responsible like-for-like comparison here. Toyota’s current competitor page surfaces them among similar vehicles, but it is not confirmed as a 2024-specific specification source. Treat both as models to investigate, not as fully evaluated recommendations; verify 2024 drivetrain availability, trim-level EPA estimates and equipment from the automaker before comparing them with a 2024 Camry.

Choose by the version you would actually buy
- Prioritize a hybrid and rear-seat room: Start with the Accord Hybrid, then compare its exact trim’s equipment and EPA estimate with the Camry Hybrid you are considering.
- Need AWD: Include the Altima AWD in your search, but use figures for the exact drivetrain and trim rather than the Altima’s FWD S/SV economy.
- Want a higher-output engine option: Compare the Sonata N Line with ordinary Sonata trims as a separate performance-and-efficiency choice.
- Shopping used: Compare condition, maintenance records, equipment, recall status, warranty eligibility and local asking prices for the individual cars. The cited comparison pages do not establish current used values or independent reliability rankings.
