What are Alpine’s pop-down headlights?
Driving Vision News describes a lamp concealed beneath a cover that sits flush with the bodywork. The cover reportedly lowers into the body to reveal slim LEDs in the colors of the French flag. That is the outlet’s description of the teaser, not an official technical specification from Alpine.
Driving Vision News also reports that Alpine considers the mechanism compatible with production-car safety rules, unlike conventional pop-up headlights. Alpine’s announcement does not independently describe the mechanism or make that safety claim, so neither point should be treated as confirmed by the brand.
What Alpine has confirmed about PS1
Alpine identifies PS1 as a concept car and expands the name as “Projet Spécial 1.” The brand places the project in its special-projects strategy pillar. Its teaser shows one distinctive headlamp; Alpine says it is the sole clue before the full details are disclosed at the show.

The announcement does not establish that PS1 is intended for production. It also does not give a body style, powertrain, dimensions, price, release date, or market availability, nor does it say the headlamp design will appear on a production car. Suggestions that the concept previews a specific future model are speculation, not an Alpine-confirmed link.
When and where Alpine will reveal PS1
Alpine scheduled the reveal for 09:20 CEST on 12 October 2026 at the Mondial de l’Auto – Paris Motor Show. The show runs from 12 to 18 October, and Alpine lists PS1 at Hall 6, Stand A22. These are the brand’s published event details; the full reveal had not yet taken place as of 7 October 2026.

PS1 is not the A110 Sculpture
Alpine is also bringing the A110 Sculpture to Paris, but it is a separate show item, not another name for PS1. Alpine describes the sculpture as a design preview of the third-generation A110’s proportions and styling, based on the Alpine Performance Platform. The brand also lists the A290 Collection and new A390 colours and trims among its Paris premieres.
Alpine’s official announcement, dated 6 October 2026, sums up the limited pre-show information: “This is the sole clue before the curtain rises on day one of the show, when Alpine will disclose full details.”
