The “milliseconds” in the headline is hyperbole, not a measured time. It is designed to add a basket-like option to a bike’s luggage rack, but its stated 20-kilogram capacity does not override the rack’s own load limit.
How the folding bike cargo box works
Allpacka describes the One as a foldable cargo box that mounts to a bicycle luggage rack. New Atlas reported in July 2024 that the carrier converts in one motion; the current product page says it folds in under one second. Both accounts describe product claims, not an independently timed test. New Atlas’s Eurobike 2024 report introduced the product as a rack configuration that opens into a basket.
The manufacturer lists the folded dimensions as 26.5 × 35 × 19 cm and the open dimensions as 60 × 35 × 18 cm. It gives a usable cargo-floor area of 50 × 31 cm in its September 2024 Kickstarter FAQ. Those measurements describe different things: the product’s overall dimensions and the usable floor area.

What to check before fitting it to a bike
Rack capacity and attachment
The box attaches to a luggage rack, and the product’s 20 kg maximum is not permission to exceed the rack’s lower rating. Count the box and its contents against the rack limit, and follow the maker’s mounting instructions. The manufacturer lists mounting hardware and says the box is compatible with common bicycle panniers and luggage racks; confirm fit for your specific rack and bag setup.
Child seats and animal transport
In its Kickstarter FAQ last updated September 2024, Allpacka says the One is not compatible with rear-mounted child seats. The same FAQ says the product has not been tested for animal transport, so the maker cannot recommend using it that way. If either use matters to your setup, ask the manufacturer for current guidance rather than assuming compatibility.

Weather and loose cargo
The manufacturer lists a rain cover and cargo net as optional accessories. The box’s stated capacity alone does not establish that it is weatherproof or that loose items will stay secured; check the accessory details and secure cargo appropriately for the ride.
What happened after the crowdfunding campaign
The Allpacka One campaign ran from September 3 to October 3, 2024. Kickstarter records €151,854 pledged by 1,020 backers against a €30,000 goal. The campaign page, updated August 28, 2026, directs visitors to the maker’s online shop. Is a folding cargo box useful for your bike?
The One’s practical distinction is that its maker says it folds to a smaller rack-mounted shape when not being used as a box. Whether that is preferable to a conventional basket, panniers or another rack box depends on the space you need, the rack’s load rating, mounting and removal preferences, and compatibility with your existing bags. The available sources do not provide a controlled comparison or independent performance testing, so they do not establish that it is lighter, stronger or more convenient than those alternatives.
