What is the Edizione Luna Rossa?
Alfa Romeo announced the Edizione Luna Rossa on 24 September 2026 as a special series spanning four models: Junior, Tonale, Giulia and Stelvio. Its design references Luna Rossa sailing boats through red logos, distinctive liveries and a sailing-inspired palette. The details vary by model rather than forming one identical package across the range. Alfa Romeo’s announcement describes the series and its styling direction.
What distinguishes the Giulia and Stelvio editions?
Shared design and materials
Alfa Romeo highlights extensive carbon fibre and ECONYL regenerated-nylon fabric for the Giulia and Stelvio. The manufacturer says some of the ECONYL material is made from fishing nets recovered from the seabed. That describes a material source; the announcement does not quantify a vehicle-level environmental benefit.
Giulia equipment listed for Italy
Alfa Romeo’s Italian Giulia equipment page lists 19-inch dark alloy wheels, red Brembo brake calipers, carbon-fibre mirror caps, a V-shaped grille, rear spoiler and side skirts. The cabin specification shown includes leather dashboard and door panels, ECONYL seats and carbon-fibre interior trim; Rosso Etna paint is available. How the other two models differ
Junior and Tonale take a different approach, with grey and Gloss Black styling and 3D Knit upholstery, according to Alfa Romeo’s launch announcement. The contrast underlines that Edizione Luna Rossa is a shared design theme adapted to each model, not a single set of parts used throughout the range.
What is the connection with the Luna Rossa sailing team?
Alfa Romeo describes the relationship as a technical collaboration as well as a design inspiration. The automaker says it contributed simulation, vehicle-dynamics and virtual-analysis expertise, and worked on software controlling sail-movement systems. These are the partners’ descriptions of their work; the announcement does not provide independent performance testing or quantified results.

Luna Rossa Technology & Operations Director Gilberto Nobili said the partnership offered access to expertise in simulation, dynamics and virtual analysis to better understand the team’s systems and identify potential improvements early. The team’s announcement attributes that statement to Nobili.
UK powertrain and launch timing
For the UK, Alfa Romeo says the Giulia and Stelvio Edizione Luna Rossa use a 280 hp 2.0 GME petrol engine. The UK announcement says sales begin in December 2026, with the first model expected to arrive in early 2027. Those specifications and dates are UK-specific; they do not establish the engine, ordering window or delivery timing elsewhere. Alfa Romeo UK’s release gives the local details.

Prices and availability in Italy
Alfa Romeo’s Italian press listing gives starting list prices of €71,250 for the Giulia and €73,350 for the Stelvio, and states that commercialisation begins on 25 September 2026. The same listing prices the Junior from €37,800 and Tonale from €48,950. These are Italy figures; confirm current pricing, applicable taxes and availability with an Italian dealer. The Italian press listing is the source for those prices and dates.

The main practical distinction is body style: the Giulia is a saloon, while the Stelvio is an SUV. Buyers should compare the locally offered equipment and powertrain, the price in their country, and confirmed ordering and delivery dates. The available launch information does not establish that either model is objectively better, and it is not a substitute for a controlled comparison or an independent road test.
