Airstream introduced the Atlas 25RT for model year 2026 with a rear-twin layout and a pass-through storage garage in place of the Atlas 25MS’s Murphy Suite slide-out. Airstream’s current product page lists the 25RT as a 2027 model starting at $289,900; that is the manufacturer’s listed starting price, not a dealer quote or a confirmed transaction price.
When did the Airstream Atlas 25RT launch?
New Atlas reported that Airstream introduced the Atlas 25RT at the Florida RV Supershow in January 2026. Airstream’s March 2026 model-year coverage described it as a 2026 addition. The current Airstream product page identifies the coach as a 2027 Atlas 25RT, so the launch date and current model-year listing refer to different points in the model’s timeline.
Airstream calls it a “Touring Coach”; launch coverage also describes it as a camper van or Class B+ motorhome. “Class B+” is Airstream’s market-category framing here, not an independently established classification comparison with competing vehicles. What is distinctive about the 25RT layout?
Rear twin beds and a pass-through garage
The main change is the sleeping arrangement: two lengthwise rear twin beds sit above a full-width pass-through storage compartment. Airstream says the compartment can be reached from doors on both exterior sides and from inside, making it useful for bulky travel equipment. The 2027 brochure lists each bed at 76 by 33 inches.

Front lounge, galley and open aisle
Airstream presents the twin-bed plan as a way to retain a front lounge and galley while keeping a walk-through route through the coach. The layout prioritizes two separate beds, gear access and interior flow rather than the convertible Murphy Suite arrangement of the 25MS. Airstream’s Atlas 25RT product page summarizes the arrangement as a blend of refined interiors, a rear pass-through garage and Mercedes-Benz performance; that is manufacturer product language, not an independent driving assessment.
How does the Atlas 25RT compare with the 25MS?
The 25MS is the relevant sibling model. Airstream’s comparison guide distinguishes its Murphy Suite slide-out from the 25RT’s rear-twin-bed and pass-through-storage plan. The choice is primarily about how the living and sleeping areas are arranged, rather than a documented performance advantage for either coach.

For a purchase comparison, check the actual build’s price, weight sticker and cargo capacity rather than assuming the floor plan alone determines those figures. Airstream’s 25MS-versus-25RT guide describes the manufacturer’s floor-plan distinctions; it does not provide an independently measured performance comparison.
What does the 2027 Atlas 25RT include?

Chassis, engine and dimensions
- Chassis: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4500.
- Engine and transmission: Mercedes-Benz 2.0-liter turbocharged high-output four-cylinder diesel, rated by Airstream at 208 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9G-Tronic Plus transmission.
- Dimensions: 24 feet 9 inches overall length, 10 feet 6 inches overall height including the air conditioner, 9 feet 1.5 inches wide with mirrors, and 6 feet 6 inches of interior height.
Seats, belts and sleeping capacity
The brochure’s specification grid lists seats/sleeps as 2/2, while its safety-equipment list shows four seat-belt positions. Separately, Airstream’s current product page says the coach seats up to three. These figures describe different things—sleeping places, a published seat count and restraint positions—and the available manufacturer materials do not reconcile them. Confirm the exact seating configuration and documentation for the particular coach instead of treating the numbers as interchangeable.
Weight and towing
- GVWR: 12,125 lb; GCWR: 15,250 lb.
- Approximate UVW: 10,227 lb; approximate OCCC: 1,898 lb. These brochure figures are approximate; the individual vehicle’s labels govern its actual limits and carrying capacity.
- Towing: Up to 4,000 lb according to Airstream, dependent on build specification and intended loading. Do not assume every coach can tow that amount while fully loaded; account for vehicle and combination ratings on the specific unit.
Electrical system and connectivity options
- Airstream lists a standard 6.9 kWh heated deep-cycle lithium battery system and a 3,000 W pure sine-wave inverter.
- The optional Advanced Power Plus system increases listed battery capacity to 17.2 kWh.
- Optional solar is listed at 400 W.
- Optional Starlink Flat High Performance in-motion internet is listed; a Starlink service plan is required. Hardware availability and service terms should be confirmed for the intended location and configuration.
Water, fuel and climate equipment
- Tank capacities: 23 gallons fresh water, 31 gallons gray water and 27 gallons waste capacity.
- Diesel tank: 24.5 gallons.
- Climate and hot water: 15,000 BTU ducted air conditioning with heat pump, diesel-fired hydronic heat and hot water, and heated fresh- and gray-water tanks.
Galley and warranty
- Cooking and refrigeration: 1,000 W stowable single-burner induction cooktop, 6.6 cu. ft. 12 V refrigerator/freezer and 0.7 cu. ft. microwave.
- Warranty terms listed in the brochure: two-year Airstream limited warranty; Mercedes-Benz chassis coverage of five years/75,000 miles and engine/drivetrain coverage of five years/100,000 miles. Consult the applicable warranty documents for exclusions and component-specific terms.
What should buyers know about price, fuel economy and real-world performance?
Airstream’s current 2027 product page lists a $289,900 starting price. It is a manufacturer-listed starting figure, not a guarantee of the price for a specific equipment package or dealer transaction. Confirm the configuration and current quote directly before making a purchase decision.

The brochure estimates highway fuel economy at 16–18 mpg and cautions that actual mileage varies with load, driving style and conditions. This is not an instrumented road-test result. The reviewed sources do not establish independently tested fuel consumption or range, owner reliability trends, a transaction-price range or current dealer inventory. Treat performance and availability claims accordingly, and check the vehicle’s stickers and dealer information for the specific coach.
