Xiaomi’s first electric SUV is no longer just in development: the company announced the YU7 on May 22, 2025. Xiaomi describes it as a mid-to-large SUV, with dimensions close to five metres long. The YU7 is a battery-electric vehicle; it is distinct from Xiaomi’s later SkyNomad range-extended SUVs.
What is Xiaomi’s electric SUV called?
It is the Xiaomi YU7, announced as the company’s first SUV. The name and announcement date come from Xiaomi’s May 22, 2025 announcement. That announcement describes the YU7 as a mid-to-large SUV.
The YU7 is a battery-electric model. It should not be confused with the SkyNomad N70 and N90, later range-extended SUVs reported by TechRadar in August 2026. A range-extended vehicle uses an onboard generator in addition to its electric drive; the YU7 announcement identifies a different, battery-electric powertrain.
How big is the Xiaomi YU7?

These are manufacturer-published figures from Xiaomi’s 2025 announcement, not measurements from an independent test. The figures indicate a large SUV footprint, but do not by themselves establish cabin space, seating capacity or cargo volume.

Which technology did Xiaomi announce?
Xiaomi highlighted dual 5G parallel communication, a UWB key and Wi-Fi 7 in its launch announcement. These are manufacturer-announced features; the announcement alone does not establish their real-world performance or availability in every market or trim.
Is the YU7 on sale, and what does it cost?
The YU7 has moved beyond the development stage: Xiaomi announced it in 2025, and later company material indexed in search reported a YU7 GT launch on May 21, 2026, with a starting price of RMB389,900. This is a company-reported mainland China price for the GT, not a confirmed price for every YU7 version or for buyers in other countries. Xiaomi’s investor-material page did not open, so the indexed details should be treated with that access limitation in mind. The relevant search-indexed material also attributed a YU7 Series sales-ranking claim in mainland China to Xiaomi as of February 2026; it does not provide a basis here for a broader market-share comparison.

Will Xiaomi sell the YU7 in Europe?
Xiaomi Auto has announced a planned European market entry for 2027, according to Cinco Días’ March 2026 report. That report says Xiaomi had not specified which models or prices would reach each market. A European launch plan for the company therefore does not confirm that the YU7 will be sold in Europe, or establish its local price, timing or service coverage.
How does the YU7 fit into Xiaomi’s wider SUV plans?
The YU7 is not the only SUV in Xiaomi’s later plans. TechRadar’s August 7, 2026 report on the SkyNomad N70 and N90 describes them as range-extended models and reports Xiaomi’s claimed CLTC figures:

These figures are not YU7 range specifications. CLTC and WLTP are different test cycles, so their results should not be treated as directly equivalent, and neither figure guarantees real-world driving distance.
