The Harley-Davidson Pan America ST has earned a genuine racing record: James Rispoli won the 2025 Mission Super Hooligan National Championship, and Pan America ST riders swept both Super Hooligan podiums at Daytona in 2026. That is a strong result in its class—not proof that a Pan America beats a Road Glide. The Road Glide’s Daytona results came in King of the Baggers, a separate championship class, on a race-prepared motorcycle.
What the Pan America has achieved in Super Hooligan
Harley-Davidson identifies James Rispoli as the 2025 Mission Super Hooligan National Championship winner aboard a Pan America ST. The title gives the model a full-season championship credential, rather than a single standout finish. Harley-Davidson’s racing page lists the manufacturer’s racing programs and results.
The Pan America ST’s momentum carried into the 2026 Daytona opener. According to Harley-Davidson’s March 7, 2026 report, Rispoli won Friday’s Super Hooligan race, holding off teammates Cory West and Jake Lewis by a combined 0.020 seconds. Lewis won Saturday’s race, beating West by 0.012 seconds. Harley-Davidson riders filled all six podium places across the two races. These close finishes show competitive racing within Super Hooligan; they do not establish how a showroom Pan America performs against a Road Glide on the street, or even in a direct race.

How the Pan America and Road Glide results differ
The Road Glide’s cited results are from King of the Baggers, not Super Hooligan. At Daytona in 2026, Kyle Wyman finished third in both King of the Baggers races on a race-prepared Road Glide. The two motorcycles were competing in separate classes, so the results are not a head-to-head comparison.

Harley-Davidson reported the COTA results in its Circuit of the Americas race report. Taken together, the results support a story about two Harley-Davidson platforms competing successfully in their respective series—not a ranking of one against the other.

Race bikes are not stock motorcycles
Race results belong to the machines as prepared for competition. Harley-Davidson describes its factory Road Glide racers as having a modified Milwaukee-Eight 131 engine, upgraded suspension, competition exhaust, race tires, and lightweight bodywork. Its Daytona report identifies the Pan America machines as race-prepared but does not provide an equivalent full build sheet. The available detail therefore does not support a component-by-component comparison of the two race bikes.
Nor should the Pan America ST race results be assigned to the current Pan America 1250 Special. Harley-Davidson’s US page for the 2026 Special lists 150 hp and 94 ft-lb of torque, along with semi-active suspension, a 6.8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and nine pre-programmed ride modes. Those are specifications for the Special trim, not a published specification sheet for the ST racer. See the 2026 Pan America 1250 Special page.

What this racing record does—and does not—say
The strongest case for the Pan America is specific: its ST racers won the 2025 Super Hooligan championship and then swept the Daytona podiums in that class in 2026. The Road Glide also put together strong results, including Wyman’s two Daytona thirds and Smith’s COTA win, but those came in King of the Baggers. Neither series result establishes that a stock Pan America is faster, better, or more capable overall than a stock Road Glide.
Harley-Davidson’s accounts are primary sources for its own team results and stated model specifications, but they are manufacturer-authored reports and product material. The figures and finishes above should be read in that context. Rispoli called the Daytona opener, “If you didn’t like that racing, I don’t know what you like,” while Wyman said two Daytona podiums made for “a good weekend.” These are competitors’ reactions to race events, not independent assessments of the street motorcycles.
