Acticycle is a four-wheel, electrically assisted pedal vehicle with a canopy, seats and storage—not a conventional bicycle or a small car. Its current lineup comprises the ACT 3.1 VAE and ACT 3.2 Slope, both listed with assistance up to 25 km/h, and the ACT 3.6 Rando, listed up to 45 km/h. Those speeds, ranges and performance figures are manufacturer claims; they are not independent road-test results. Before treating one as a car or bicycle substitute, confirm its legal classification, road access and licensing requirements for your location and the exact model.
What is an Acticycle?
Acticycle, a French maker, describes its vehicle as an “ultralight weight vehicle, a mix between a bike and a car.” It combines active pedaling and electric assistance with four wheels, a body and canopy, a front seat and rear bench. The company pitches it for everyday journeys of several tens of kilometres and for leisure. That description explains the concept, but does not establish that it is legally a car, bicycle or any other particular vehicle class. Acticycle’s mission page describes the company’s purpose; the current model and specification information is on its product page.
How the three current configurations differ
Acticycle’s current product page lists three ACT 3.x configurations. The following are company-published specifications, not independent measurements. “Peak” power is not the same as continuous power, and neither figure by itself tells you the vehicle’s assisted-speed limit.

Acticycle says the vehicle may have one battery, with a second possible on some configurations, and offers optional integrated solar-cloth charging rated at 80 Wc. The listed range figures are the company’s estimates; actual distance will vary with battery configuration, terrain and use. No independent range test is established in the available sources. Size, seating and equipment
Acticycle lists shared dimensions across the three configurations: 236 cm long, 92 cm wide and 153 cm high, with a 156 cm wheelbase, 15 cm ground clearance and a 7 m outer-wheel turning radius. The listed maximum vehicle weight is 300 kg. The two-seat versions are specified for two adults; the maker says the ACT 3.1 can alternatively carry one adult and two children. Confirm the permitted load and seating arrangement for the specific unit before carrying passengers.
The company lists four 20-inch wheels with reinforced rims and 20 × 2.35-inch puncture-resistant reinforced tires, naming Schwalbe Pick-Up or equivalent. Equipment described includes 180 mm discs, hydraulic front and rear brakes, composite leaf-spring suspension at both ends, windshield, outside mirrors, lights and indicators. Its stated rear storage is approximately 170 litres: a 50 L lockable hard compartment plus a 120 L soft trunk. These are manufacturer specifications, not a third-party equipment inspection.

What four wheels do—and what is not proven
Acticycle says four wheels provide greater stability than a two-wheeled bike and that its canopy makes the vehicle more visible to other road users. Those are the maker’s claims, not established comparative safety findings. The available product information does not provide independent crash, braking, handling or visibility test results. Four wheels, a canopy and car-like seating do not by themselves show how a vehicle performs in a collision or how it handles in every road condition.
The drivetrain also varies by model. Acticycle describes a 250 W VAE drive, front-wheel motors and a CIXI generator on the Slope, and rear-wheel LMX motors on the Rando. Its page allows equivalent equipment, so named components should not be treated as guaranteed in every production vehicle. The company’s 2025 Eurobike post discusses a different development model, the ACT2.5 HIKER, with two seats, two 2 kW MIC-2000 motors, a PERS generator and Motion Engineering France suspension technology. This is the amount shown for that page—not a confirmed delivered total or a price list for all three models. The available pages do not establish a complete current price list, delivery schedule or production availability. Check the ACT 3.1 order page and confirm current terms directly with Acticycle before paying.
The company invites prospective riders to arrange a tryout near its workshop at Grand Plateau in Villeurbanne. The ACT 3.1 order page gives the address as 40 Rue Decomberousse, 69100 Villeurbanne. Check local rules before using one on public roads
Do not assume that a vehicle marketed as a bike-car mix inherits the rules for an ordinary bicycle or passenger car. Acticycle’s FAQ gives France-specific guidance, including that its 45 km/h vehicle cannot be used on motorways or expressways and AM/BSR guidance based on year of birth. That information is not a universal legal determination, and the available material does not establish every rule for every model or rider. For the exact vehicle and jurisdiction, verify classification, licence, helmet, registration, insurance and cycle-path access with the relevant local authority before riding.
