In the U.S., a used 2018 Aston Martin DB11 V12 was listed on Cars.com for $87,990 with 28,418 miles, and another was listed for $100,287 with 20,510 miles. Both asking prices are below the $114,900 starting MSRP Mercedes-Benz lists for a new 2027 AMG SL 43 Roadster, which has a four-cylinder engine. This is a comparison of specific used-car listings with a new-car MSRP—not sale prices or a like-for-like measure of value.
How much less do the listed DB11 V12s cost?
The Cars.com page for used 2018 DB11 V12s showed these examples when accessed on October 8, 2026:

The two DB11 listings are respectively $26,910 and $14,613 below the SL 43’s starting MSRP. Cars.com also reported a $99,037 nationwide average and a starting price of $87,990 on its 2018 DB11 V12 page. That page-level average is a marketplace figure, not a completed-sale statistic or a guaranteed valuation; it does not specify a clear publication year. Listings and prices can change or disappear.
What the price comparison does—and does not—mean
The DB11 figures are asking prices for used cars with different mileage; the Mercedes figure is the manufacturer’s starting MSRP for a new 2027 model. Neither is an out-the-door price. The comparison does not account for taxes, delivery, dealer fees, financing, options, condition, warranty, service history, or maintenance, and the available figures do not establish total ownership cost.

So the headline is true for these particular listings, but it should not be read as proof that any DB11 V12 costs less than any new SL 43, or that the Aston is automatically the better value. A buyer would need to compare the actual car’s specification, records, condition, location, and purchase terms against the new Mercedes being considered.
Two different kinds of grand tourer
Aston Martin DB11 V12
Aston Martin’s DB11 specification page lists the V12 model at 630 bhp, with a 208 mph top speed and 0–62 mph acceleration in 3.7 seconds. Those are manufacturer specifications for the V12 version; the DB11 range also included other configurations. Aston Martin’s corporate prospectus describes the DB11 V12 as an all-new twin-turbo V12 and the company’s first turbocharged series-production model.

Mercedes-AMG SL 43 Roadster
Mercedes-Benz USA lists the 2027 AMG SL 43 Roadster with a 2.0-liter inline-four producing 416 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. It is a new roadster, while the cited DB11s are used examples. The price contrast therefore comes with differences in model year, condition, powertrain, and vehicle format—not just badge or engine count.

The current Mercedes-Benz USA page lists the 2027 AMG SL 43 at $114,900 MSRP. Mercedes-Benz Media Newsroom’s 2026 model-year pricing overview listed $112,500 for the SL 43. These are separate model-year snapshots, not competing current prices; use the 2027 figure for the comparison above.
