That striking figure comes from Gizchina’s March 4, 2026 report; the linked post behind it was not retrievable, and Geely’s separate official charging announcement does not confirm that exact peak. The report describes mass-produced hardware and a real-world setting, but the precise test conditions have not been independently documented.
What the 1,266.4 kW claim actually says
Gizchina reported on March 4, 2026, that a production Zeekr 001 reached a peak of 1,266.4 kW while connected to a Geely Megawatt charging station. Its account characterizes the event as a user-conducted real-world test using mass-produced hardware, rather than a prototype or controlled laboratory demonstration. Read Gizchina’s report.
That framing should be attributed to the report, not treated as independently audited test documentation. The linked Weibo post was not retrievable, and the accessible official Geely material does not verify the precise 1,266.4 kW session. The exact car configuration, location, starting battery charge, temperature, and duration of the peak are not established in the available reporting.
Peak power is not the same as a full charging session
The 1,266.4 kW number is reported as a peak: a maximum at a point during charging. It does not show that the car drew that power continuously, nor does it by itself establish how long the battery took to charge. A peak figure cannot be converted into a dependable charging-time estimate without the session’s state-of-charge range and power curve.

Geely’s September 24, 2026 announcement offers a different measure: real-world charge-window results for batteries used in the Zeekr 001 and Lynk & Co 10. The company says they charged from 10% to 70% in 4 minutes 30 seconds, and from 10% to 97% in 8 minutes 40 seconds. Geely calls this its fastest production-ready charging performance to date. The distinction matters: a station’s maximum rated power is not the power a vehicle necessarily accepts, while a vehicle’s momentary peak is not a sustained rate or a charge-window result.

Can every Zeekr 001 do this?
The available evidence does not establish that every Zeekr 001—or every car sold under that name in every market—can reach the reported peak. The test car’s trim, battery, and model-year configuration are not specified in the accessible report. Zeekr’s model has been in production since the first production-ready vehicle rolled off the line on October 19, 2021, but that history does not identify the configuration used in the reported session. Specifications also vary by market. A Zeekr GCC-market specification sheet lists standard DC charging at 200 kW; that figure applies to the market-specific sheet and should not be generalized to Chinese-market cars or to the vehicle in the reported event. Zeekr GCC-market specifications.

What the network and battery claims do—and do not—show
Zeekr’s official overview lists 860 800-volt ultra-fast charging stations and 4,134 chargers, with both figures dated February 28, 2025. That dated count does not establish where Geely Megawatt stations are available today or whether a particular driver can access one. Zeekr charging-network overview.
Geely also describes average battery temperature below 55°C and a peak below 65°C as system targets for its AI charging technology. These are company-described targets, not independent findings about the reported 1,266.4 kW session. Geely announcement.

What remains unknown about the reported peak
- How long the car held 1,266.4 kW, or whether that figure represents only a brief maximum.
- The session’s starting state of charge, battery temperature, and full charging curve.
- The exact Zeekr 001 trim, battery, model year, and location.
- Independent measurement or audit confirming the number and test conditions.
Without those details, the strongest supported reading is narrow: Gizchina reported a remarkable peak for a production Zeekr 001 at a Geely Megawatt station, while Geely has separately published rapid charge-window results for batteries used in the 001 and Lynk & Co 10. The official charge-window announcement is relevant context, not verification of the reported peak.
