What could make a modern Harley worth watching?
Collector interest can develop around distinctive factory editions, early examples of a new platform, or models that attract a durable enthusiast following. Those are reasons to test a hypothesis, not evidence of future price growth. No model-specific realized sale-price histories were found for the eight candidates below, so there is no defensible appreciation ranking.
Harley-Davidson’s February 10, 2026 financial-results release reported full-year 2025 global retail sales of new motorcycles down 12% from 2024 and North American retail sales down 13%. The company attributed North American weakness to Touring weakness in the first half and customers’ focus on affordability. These figures describe new-bike retail sales, not used-bike prices or demand for any particular model. Harley-Davidson’s 2025 results also report 653 LiveWire electric motorcycle shipments in 2025, compared with 612 in 2024—shipments, not resale transactions.
Eight Harley-Davidson candidates to research
These are watchlist leads based on potential collector-interest questions, not confirmed winners. Check the precise model year and trim: names and specifications can change across years, and special-edition status should be verified from a primary source.

1. Limited-production CVO variants
CVO models may merit a closer look because the factory positions the collection as limited-production. Harley-Davidson’s November 3, 2025 announcement said details of the 2026 CVO collection would be revealed later; it did not quantify production or establish resale demand. 2. Harley-Davidson Icon Collection models
Factory treatments that visibly distinguish an Icon Collection motorcycle could attract buyers seeking a particular design or historical reference. The available information does not establish Icon-specific production totals or transaction trends. Confirm the exact edition and its distinguishing original equipment, then compare like-for-like sales.

3. 120th Anniversary editions
An anniversary edition can be a useful lead for collector research, but a commemorative badge is not proof of a premium. No production totals or realized price trends for these editions are established here. Compare anniversary bikes with the same standard model, year, condition, and equipment to see whether buyers actually paid more.
4. FXDR 114
The FXDR 114 is a possible discontinued-model hypothesis: a model that is no longer produced may interest some buyers, but discontinuation alone does not create scarcity or appreciation. The evidence here does not verify its production run, final model year, or transaction trend. Confirm those details and compare multiple completed sales before using them to support a value claim.

5. LiveWire One
The LiveWire One stands out as an early Harley-branded electric motorcycle, which makes it a distinct category to monitor. Harley-Davidson’s reported LiveWire shipment figures do not show model-specific inventory, used-bike demand, or resale values. Evaluate actual LiveWire One transactions rather than treating shipment growth as a price signal.
6. First-generation Pan America variants
Early Pan America models may interest buyers focused on Harley-Davidson’s adventure-touring platform. That is a niche-interest hypothesis, not demonstrated appreciation. Compare the same variant and model year, and account for equipment, condition, mileage, and documented maintenance.

7. Sportster S or Nightster variants
The 2025 lineup included the Nightster, Nightster Special, and Sportster S. Harley-Davidson’s U.S. lineup page showed starting prices of $9,999, $12,499, and $15,999, respectively; these are model-year, market-specific starting prices, not current used values or forecasts. How to check whether a Harley is actually gaining value
- Fix the comparison. Choose one geography and currency. Match the model year and trim as closely as possible, and record mileage, condition, original equipment, modifications, maintenance documentation, and title status.
- Start with valuation tools, not a verdict. Harley-Davidson’s seller valuation flow requests mileage and permits an optional VIN. Harley-Davidson instant valuation J.D. - Prioritize completed transactions. Asking prices show what sellers hope to receive, not what buyers paid. Gather multiple completed sales for comparable bikes across time. One unusually high auction result is not a trend.
- Separate price from proceeds. Note the sale channel and distinguish gross sale price from buyer fees, seller fees, and the amount the seller actually received.
- Look for a repeated pattern. Compare more than one point in time and account for changes in condition, mileage, and market. Without comparable transaction history, a claim that a model is appreciating is not established.
What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you
- It can identify official lineup context and some manufacturer statements about model positioning or limited-production status.
- It cannot establish a model-specific appreciation rate for these eight bikes, a production-limit-based premium, or a reliable future sale price.
- New-motorcycle sales and LiveWire shipment totals are not substitutes for used-market transaction data.
- Any valuation estimate should be labeled with its source, date, condition assumptions, and geography; it is not a guaranteed offer.
