777 Hypercar’s current official specifications rate its naturally aspirated 4.5-litre Gibson V8 at 800 hp at 9,000 rpm. The company’s November 2022 launch release listed 730 hp at the same engine speed, a 70-hp difference between its published figures. The company has not explained what accounts for the change, and 9,000 rpm is the stated power-output speed—not a confirmed redline.
How the published power figure changed
| Source and date | Published output | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| 777 Hypercar launch release, November 22, 2022 | 730 hp at 9,000 rpm | Launch-era specification. 777 Hypercar’s launch release via PR Newswire |
| 777 Hypercar’s current official model page and data sheet; publication year not stated for the data sheet | 800 hp (588 kW) at 9,000 rpm | The data sheet labels the output “push to pass.” Official model page · Official data sheet |
The company’s published figure is therefore 70 hp higher in the current material than in the 2022 release. Neither source explains whether the difference reflects engine hardware, calibration, measurement conditions, or another change, so assigning a technical cause would be speculation.
Does 9,000 rpm mean the engine’s redline?
No confirmed redline is given in the cited current specifications. The 9,000-rpm figure is the speed at which the company states the engine’s power output; the data sheet calls the 800-hp figure “push to pass.” That wording does not establish the engine’s maximum permitted speed or its normal operating limit.
What else 777 publishes about the car
The company describes the 777 Hypercar as a private-owner car for exclusive track use, developed with Dallara and powered by Gibson. Its official data sheet lists these figures:
