Short answer: the seven practical budget-bike candidates identified in the source guide are the Act Best, TotGuard, Runner X, Windhorse, Mileport, Deepower, and Fifth Wheel Electric Bikes. They cover different needs: folding storage, mixed commuting, compact riding, claimed range, comfort, and hill-oriented use.
There is an important qualification, however. The underlying guide was published on July 23, 2025, and the research did not produce seven independently auditable, current TEMU listings proving that every model was still available for less than $300. Prices, seller names, stock, shipping, coupons, and final checkout totals can change quickly. Treat the models below as budget-bike candidates from that guide—not as independently tested bikes or a guarantee of current TEMU pricing. Before buying, check the current TEMU listing and verify the delivered price, seller, battery documentation, and return terms.
What “less than $300” means in this list
The under-$300 framing comes from the source article, not from a current price audit of all seven bikes. Marketplace prices may be reduced by coupons or change after a listing is published, while shipping, taxes, assembly fees, and required accessories can raise the amount you actually pay.
TEMU’s purchase-protection materials say that eligible orders may qualify for refunds when an item does not arrive, arrives damaged, or is not as described. That protection is useful, but it does not replace checking the seller, battery and charger details, return restrictions, shipping conditions, or whether the product is appropriate for your local roads and trails.
Buying rule: do not place an order solely because a listing shows a low price, a high wattage number, or a long range claim. Save screenshots of the exact product page, seller, specifications, included equipment, promised delivery date, and final checkout total.
Seven TEMU electric-bike candidates at a glance
The specifications in this table are reported or claimed figures from the source material. They were not independently measured in controlled testing. “Range” is especially sensitive to rider weight, terrain, wind, temperature, assist level, tire pressure, riding speed, and battery condition.

1. Act Best eBike: best for small-space storage
The Act Best is the most obvious candidate for an apartment, dorm, RV, or other space where a full-size bicycle is difficult to store. The source describes a 14-inch folding design and an approximate weight of 56 pounds. Folding reduces the bike’s footprint, but 56 pounds is still substantial when carrying it up stairs or lifting it into a vehicle.
The listing-style specifications include a claimed 749-watt peak motor, 26-mph top speed, 26-mile range, and 230-pound rider limit. Those numbers should not be treated as measured performance. A 26-mph claim also deserves a legal check before riding on public roads, shared paths, or trails.
Choose it if: storage footprint matters more than easy carrying and your trips are short. Verify first: folded dimensions, total weight with the battery installed, the actual rider-and-cargo limit, maximum assist or throttle speed, and whether the charger and battery are supplied by a traceable manufacturer.
2. TotGuard eBike: best for mixed commuting and recreational riding
The TotGuard is the conventional-looking option in this group. The source describes 26-inch wheels, 21-speed gearing, a lockable front suspension fork, and an LCD display. That combination may appeal to a rider who wants one bike for paved commuting and occasional recreational routes rather than a very compact folder.
Its reported figures include a claimed 500-watt peak motor, 19-mph electric-only speed, and a 374-Wh battery. The source gives two different use cases for range: approximately 28–30 miles in electric-only riding or 50–60 miles with pedal assist. Those are not equivalent tests. Electric-only riding generally draws more energy than using the motor to supplement active pedaling, and neither figure establishes what a particular rider will achieve.
Choose it if: wheel size, gears, and a more traditional bicycle layout are more important than compact storage. Verify first: the exact battery capacity, whether the quoted range belongs to the same listing, the brake type, lighting, rack or fender compatibility, and the bike’s true weight.
3. Runner X eBike: best for compact hill-oriented use
The Runner X is described as a folding bike with 14-inch wheels, a 400-watt motor, a 48-volt/10-Ah battery, three pedal-assist levels, and dual disc brakes. Its small wheel and folding format make it a compact candidate for short urban trips, while the voltage and motor figures may interest buyers who expect inclines.
There is no independent hill test in the research, so the “hill-oriented” label is a practical shopping angle rather than proof that the bike will climb a particular grade. Hill performance depends on total load, gearing, controller limits, battery state, tire pressure, surface, and motor temperature.
Choose it if: you need a small folder and have moderate hills on your route. Verify first: the continuous rather than peak motor rating, controller specifications, rider-and-cargo limit, disc-brake size, folding-joint security, and replacement-battery availability.
4. Windhorse eBike: best for a foldable range-focused design
The Windhorse combines a compact format with a removable 36-volt/8-Ah battery, 16-inch wheels, front suspension, and three riding modes. A removable battery can make indoor charging easier, provided the battery can be removed without damaging connectors and there is a safe place to store and charge it.

The source claims up to 35 miles of pedal-assist range and 19 miles of pure-electric range. These figures are useful for comparing the listing’s intended positioning, but they are not a guarantee. Ask what rider weight, speed, terrain, temperature, and assist setting were used to produce the figures—if the seller provides that information at all.
Choose it if: you want a smaller folder and expect to pedal rather than rely entirely on the motor. Verify first: battery model and certification evidence, charger specifications, replacement-battery pricing, suspension hardware, wheel and tire availability, and the actual folded size.
5. Mileport Foldable eBike: best for weekday/weekend flexibility
The Mileport is presented as a dual-purpose transportation option. The source lists a removable battery, seven-speed gearing, integrated front and rear LED lights, a high-carbon-steel frame, 20-inch tires, and a claimed 20-mph speed.
Gears and 20-inch tires can make this format more practical for errands than an ultra-small folder, but they also make fit, weight, and folding dimensions especially important. Integrated lights are valuable only if they are powered reliably, visible in the conditions where you ride, and still usable when the battery is low.

Choose it if: you want a folder that is not limited to the shortest neighborhood trips. Verify first: whether “high-carbon steel” accurately describes the current listing, the battery’s watt-hours, the light controls, the folded dimensions, the hinge lock, and whether the claimed 20-mph speed is throttle-only, pedal-assisted, or both.
6. Deepower eBike: best for compact comfort
The Deepower is described as a compact bike with 14-inch wheels, suspension, three assistance levels, a 400-watt brushless motor, and a claimed 20-mph top speed. The source gives a claimed range of 20–30 miles.
The brake description is a particularly important buying detail: the source calls them linear-pull brakes rather than disc brakes. Linear-pull brakes can be adequate in appropriate conditions when correctly adjusted, but buyers should not assume they provide the same performance as a properly sized disc-brake system in sustained descents, rain, or a heavily loaded ride.
Choose it if: compactness and a more cushioned ride matter more than high-speed or long-distance use. Verify first: brake type and pad availability, suspension travel and adjustment, tire size, rider limit, throttle behavior, and whether the 20–30-mile range is electric-only or pedal-assist.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors7. Fifth Wheel Electric Bike: best for comfort and ergonomic positioning
The Fifth Wheel is described with an ergonomic design, a shock-absorbing front fork, a 500-watt motor, seven-speed transmission, and a 48-volt electrical system. The source claims approximately 25 miles of electric-only range or 45 miles with pedal assist.
That combination may suit a rider who prefers a less cramped position than a tiny folder, but “ergonomic” is an editorial characterization rather than a clinical or comparative fit assessment. A comfortable position depends on frame size, saddle adjustment, handlebar reach, pedal position, and the individual rider.

What to verify before checkout
1. Look for model-specific electrical safety documentation
For a low-cost e-bike, verifiable electrical-system documentation is more important than the largest advertised motor number. UL 2849 addresses hazards in an e-bike’s electrical system and includes testing related to temperature, water exposure, vibration, shock, and overcharging.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Do not treat a vague “UL certified” phrase or a logo in a product image as conclusive. Ask whether the exact bike, battery, charger, and current model revision were evaluated by an accredited laboratory, and whether the seller can provide a certificate or report that identifies those components. UL 2849 concerns the electrical system; it does not automatically prove that every mechanical component, assembly step, brake, frame, or individual marketplace listing is safe.
2. Identify the battery and charger
Record the battery manufacturer, model number, voltage, amp-hour rating, watt-hours, connector, and any certification markings. The charger should be the manufacturer-supplied charger or an expressly approved replacement. Never select a generic charger just because its plug appears to fit. Voltage, polarity, charging profile, connector wiring, and battery chemistry must all match.
The CPSC has advised consumers to use micromobility products designed, manufactured, and certified by an accredited laboratory to applicable consensus safety standards. Its April 15, 2024 warning concerning UPP U004 and U004-1 batteries cited 13 reported U.S. overheating incidents, including seven reported fires or incidents involving substantial property damage. That warning does not establish that any of these seven bikes uses a UPP battery. It does demonstrate why battery identity and documentation should be checked rather than assumed.
3. Check brakes, tires, lights, and the folding hardware
Before riding, inspect the front and rear brakes, brake levers, cables or hydraulic lines, tire sidewalls, wheels, axle hardware, steering, pedals, saddle clamp, kickstand, and every folding latch. On a folding bike, the hinge and locking mechanism deserve special attention because looseness can affect steering and frame stability.

4. Calculate the real delivered cost
Compare the checkout total—not only the promotional price. Include shipping, taxes, assembly, a lock, helmet, lights if they are not included, a tire pump, and any likely replacement parts. A bike that technically falls below $300 before checkout may no longer do so after delivery charges and essential safety equipment.
If you prefer another marketplace’s inventory or return workflow, you can compare current Amazon e-bike prices. That is a comparison route, not proof that an Amazon offer is the same bike as a TEMU listing. Match the model number, battery, motor labeling, included equipment, seller, and warranty before treating two listings as equivalent.
5. Check the return and shipping fine print
Look for battery-shipping restrictions, delivery conditions, seller-specific return rules, restocking fees, warranty contact information, and the procedure for reporting transit damage. Photograph the carton and bike immediately after delivery. Keep the packaging until the bike has passed inspection and a short test ride.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Charging and first-ride safety
- Inspect before charging. Do not charge a battery that is swollen, cracked, wet, hot from use, leaking, or showing impact damage.
- Use the supplied or approved charger. Match the charger to the exact battery and follow the product manual.
- Stay present while charging. Do not charge while asleep or leave the battery charging unattended.
- Use a suitable location. Keep the charging area dry, ventilated, and away from combustible materials. Do not block an exit or charge where a battery problem would trap people.
- Start slowly. On the first ride, test the brakes, steering, throttle, pedal assist, lights, folding mechanism, and display at low speed in a controlled area.
- Stop if something is wrong. Unusual heat, smoke, a strong chemical smell, crackling, swelling, or charging behavior that differs from the manual is a reason to stop using the battery and seek qualified guidance.
A damaged lithium-ion battery should not be placed in ordinary household trash or a standard recycling bin. Contact a local battery-recycling or hazardous-materials program for disposal instructions.
Accessories worth budgeting for
The bike is only part of the transportation system. At minimum, budget for a properly fitted certified e-bike helmet, a strong lock such as a U-lock, front and rear visibility lights if the bike does not include dependable ones, a tire pump, and basic tools. A small bike repair kit is useful for tire and adjustment problems, but it cannot compensate for a questionable battery, poor brakes, or a loose folding joint.
Recommended Free Tools
For frequent use, also consider a spare tube or compatible puncture-repair supplies, reflective clothing, weather protection, and a secure indoor storage location. Verify every replacement part against the exact wheel, tire, brake, battery, and connector specifications. In particular, do not buy a generic replacement charger or battery without confirmed manufacturer compatibility.
Which candidate makes sense for which rider?
| Your priority | Candidate to investigate first | Why—and what could change the decision |
|---|---|---|
| Smallest storage footprint | Act Best | Its reported 14-inch folding format is space-friendly, but its approximate 56-pound weight may make stairs difficult. |
| Traditional bicycle feel | TotGuard | 26-inch wheels and 21 speeds are more conventional, but the larger format may be less convenient indoors. |
| Compact riding with hills in mind | Runner X | The reported 48-volt/10-Ah battery and three assist levels are promising on paper; no independent hill test was found. |
| Foldable design and claimed pedal-assist range | Windhorse | The removable battery and claimed 35-mile assist range fit the brief, but real range and battery support must be verified. |
| One bike for errands and leisure | Mileport | Seven speeds, 20-inch tires, and claimed integrated lights suggest flexibility; confirm the current equipment list. |
| Small format with suspension | Deepower | It may be comfortable for short trips, but the reported linear-pull brakes deserve extra scrutiny. |
| More upright or comfort-focused fit | Fifth Wheel | The reported fork, gears, and 48-volt system may suit some riders; fit and “ergonomic” claims are personal and unverified. |
Who should not buy one without more evidence?
- Daily high-mileage commuters: an inexpensive marketplace bike may lack the parts availability, service network, documentation, and battery support needed for dependable daily transportation.
- Riders who need high-speed performance: advertised peak power and top speed do not establish safe braking, legal status, thermal durability, or real-world range.
- Heavy riders or riders carrying cargo: confirm the total rider-and-cargo limit rather than relying on the motor rating.
- Riders facing long, steep, or wet routes: verify brakes, tires, thermal behavior, and battery capacity first. The Deepower’s reported linear-pull brakes are especially relevant here.
- Apartment residents without safe charging space: do not bring an undocumented or damaged lithium-ion battery into a building where charging could create a serious hazard.
Bottom line on these seven budget e-bikes
These seven models are best viewed as low-cost short-trip candidates with different practical strengths, not as seven confirmed bargains or tested alternatives to established commuter-bike brands. Act Best is the storage-focused option; TotGuard is the more conventional mixed-use candidate; Runner X and Windhorse emphasize compactness; Mileport targets flexible everyday use; Deepower emphasizes compact comfort; and Fifth Wheel emphasizes comfort and riding position.
The decisive purchase question is not which listing has the most impressive number. It is whether the exact current bike has identifiable electrical components, credible safety documentation, a compatible charger, adequate brakes, a realistic rider limit, usable return support, and a final price that still fits the budget. If the seller cannot answer those questions, the low price is not enough reason to take the risk.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all seven of these electric bikes currently available on TEMU for less than $300?
That has not been independently verified. The under-$300 framing comes from a guide published on July 23, 2025, while TEMU prices, stock, sellers, coupons, shipping, and final checkout totals can change. Verify the exact live listing before ordering.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Can I trust the advertised range numbers?
Treat them as claimed figures, not test results. Actual range varies with rider and cargo weight, hills, wind, temperature, tire pressure, battery condition, speed, and the amount of pedal assist used.
Which model is best for an apartment?
The Act Best is the clearest storage-focused candidate because the source describes a 14-inch folding design. Its approximately 56-pound reported weight still makes stair carrying difficult, so confirm the folded size and actual weight before buying.
What does UL 2849 tell me about an e-bike?
UL 2849 addresses hazards and testing for an e-bike’s electrical system, including areas such as temperature, water exposure, vibration, shock, and overcharging. It does not automatically certify every mechanical part or prove that a particular marketplace listing is safe. Look for model-specific documentation from an accredited laboratory rather than a vague logo or phrase.
Is a claimed 26-mph e-bike legal everywhere?
No. Speed, throttle, motor-power labeling, class definitions, and access rules vary by state, locality, trail, building, and property. Check the rules where you will ride instead of assuming that the listing’s claimed speed is a legal classification.
The Bottom Line
Final verdict: the seven bikes can serve as a shortlist for shoppers seeking inexpensive, short-distance transportation, but the “under $300” claim should not be treated as a current guarantee. Verify the live listing, delivered price, exact battery and charger, model-specific electrical safety documentation, brakes, rider limit, return terms, and local legality before purchase. No model should be treated as ready for high-speed or daily use merely because its marketplace listing advertises a large motor or long range.
