The PaxPower Jackal is an aftermarket Chevrolet Silverado 1500 conversion built around wider bodywork and long-travel suspension. PaxPower positions it against the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram TRX/RHO, and offers an optional Whipple-supercharged configuration it advertises at 650 horsepower. That makes the Jackal a claimed rival in the same broad off-road performance niche—not a proven match: the available sources include no controlled head-to-head test.
What the PaxPower Jackal changes
PaxPower describes the Jackal as a 2019–2025 Silverado/Sierra 1500 package that adds flared, wider bodywork and long-travel suspension to a stock truck. Its Silverado build listing names the core hardware and equipment below. [PaxPower overview; PaxPower build listing]
- King 2.5-inch front coilovers with reservoirs and ride adjusters.
- BajaKits fabricated upper control arms with UniBall joints.
- King 2.5-inch rear shocks with reservoirs and ride adjusters.
- Extended Trail Boss CV axles for trucks that are not Trail Boss models.
- Jackal fender flares and a functional hood.
- Borla S-Type dual exhaust.
- 17×9 off-road wheels and 35×12.5R17 tires; a 20-inch wheel upgrade is listed.
PaxPower also lists optional fabricated bumpers, Rigid and Baja Designs lights, AMP Research power running boards, an Addictive Desert Design chase rack, and bed covers. The listing does not establish exact fitment for every model year, engine, trim, or accessory combination, so confirm compatibility for the specific truck before ordering.
How the 650-hp configuration works
The supercharger is optional, not a requirement for every Jackal. PaxPower lists a Whipple Gen 5 3.0L supercharger system with ECU calibration and advertises that configuration at 650 horsepower. The company page does not state which base engine the figure applies to, whether it is measured at the crank or wheels, or the test conditions. Treat 650 hp as PaxPower’s claim, not an independently verified output. [PaxPower build listing]

- SC 2017 CHEVY/GMC GEN V TRUCK/SUV
For context, Chevrolet’s September 23, 2024 release specifies 420 hp and 460 lb-ft for the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 available in the 2025 Silverado. That factory specification is useful context, but it is not an apples-to-apples comparison with the supercharged Jackal: the sources do not establish the Jackal’s engine-specific fitment or provide standardized comparative testing. Which Silverado trims can be converted?
PaxPower says it can build a Jackal from a Silverado ZR2, reusing the ZR2’s Multimatic shocks, or from standard trims including LTZ, Trail Boss, and High Country. That is the builder’s stated range, not a guarantee that every year, engine, or configuration is compatible with every listed component or option. Is it really a Raptor or TRX/RHO competitor?
“Competitor” describes PaxPower’s market positioning. Its overview says the Jackal competes with the Ford Raptor and Ram TRX/RHO, but the available sources do not show a controlled comparison of acceleration, suspension travel, durability, off-road performance, price, or warranty. The Jackal’s documented combination of long-travel suspension, wider bodywork, and an optional supercharged engine explains the positioning; it does not establish parity with either factory truck.
A useful comparison requires matching model years and checking the same criteria for each vehicle:

- Supercharger Cover And Intercooler Upgrade
- Camaro LSA Engines, 2009-14 CTS-V
- Powertrain and the basis for any stated horsepower figure.
- Suspension hardware and published travel measurements, where available.
- Tires, body dimensions, warranty and service coverage.
- Total acquisition and conversion cost, plus delivery lead time.
- Whether performance claims come from a standardized independent test.
The reviewed Jackal sources provide component and vendor-claimed power details, but not enough information to score it against a Raptor or TRX/RHO across those measures.

No current conversion price is stated on the reviewed PaxPower pages. PaxPower says a customer can supply a truck or it can source one through local or Houston-area partner dealers. The company estimates a build takes approximately four to six weeks before shipping; that is its estimate, not independently documented service-time data. PaxPower also says financing may be arranged with the truck purchase through GM Credit or traditional lenders, and that taxes and registration are paid to the customer’s home state. Confirm current price, process, availability, and timing directly with the builder. [PaxPower overview]

PaxPower lists an optional three-year/36,000-mile warranty for the supercharger option. The page does not establish how that coverage interacts with a particular truck’s factory warranty or what other conversion components are covered; ask for the written terms for the exact build.
