Before buying the $3 million Batmobile replica, understand what you are actually purchasing: a fully functional, 1:1-scale Tumbler inspired by Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, not a street-legal production car. The announced vehicle was priced at $2.99 million, limited to a planned 10 examples, and associated with Warner Bros. Discovery, Relevance International, and Action Vehicle Engineering.
It has a reported LS3 V8, two seats, air conditioning, movie-inspired effects, and enough presence to dominate a room—or a private event. It is also unusually wide, legally restricted, expensive to transport and insure, and missing the film’s real weapons, armor, and fire-spewing jet engine. These are the five issues to settle before you put down a deposit.

| Question | What the public information supports |
|---|---|
| What is it? | A fully functional, 1:1-scale Tumbler replica inspired by the vehicle in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. |
| Who built it? | Action Vehicle Engineering was identified as the builder in a Warner Bros. Discovery collaboration involving Relevance International and the Wayne Enterprises Experience. |
| What did it cost? | The announced price was $2.99 million per vehicle, usually rounded to $3 million. |
| How many? | The announced production plan called for 10 examples. |
| Can you drive it? | It is described as drivable and functional, but public reports say it is not street legal. |
| Is it armored or weaponized? | No. Its movie-inspired effects are limited, and reports say it is not armored and does not have the film’s functioning weapons or fire-spewing jet engine. |
| Is one available now? | That is not established by the public information reviewed for this article. A 10-unit announcement is not the same as a current inventory list. |
1. Confirm what "official" means before sending a deposit
The strongest reason to regard this as something more than a fan-built Batmobile is the studio relationship. Public reporting describes the project as a collaboration involving Warner Bros. Discovery, Relevance International, and Action Vehicle Engineering. Relevance’s own case study describes a $3 million Tumbler created for the Wayne Enterprises Experience.
That is materially different from an independently fabricated replica, a garage conversion, or a kit assembled from unrelated parts. It does not, however, mean that every seller using photographs of the project is authorized to sell one. Nor does a general studio collaboration prove that a particular vehicle is genuine, complete, or transferable to you.
#1 Best Overall
- V8 POWER: The model features a 400 cubic inch V8 engine, reflecting the muscle and power that defined the GTO's reputation.
- DETAILED SUSPENSION & EXHAUST: The kit incorporates separate rear suspension and exhaust detailing, adding to the realism of the model.
- BUCKET SEATS & CONSOLE: The model's interior features bucket seats and a floor shifter with a console, capturing the iconic look and feel of the GTO.
- OPTIONAL SUPERCHARGER: For those seeking more power, the kit offers an optional supercharger, allowing you to customize your model.
- CLEAR & COMPREHENSIVE INSTRUCTIONS: The included instructions are clear and user-friendly, making the kit accessible to modelers of different skill levels, from beginners to experienced hobbyists.
Request a vehicle-specific document package
Before making a deposit, ask to see documents tied to the exact example being offered—not just a press release or a photograph of another Tumbler. The package should include:
- the purchase agreement and the legal name of every contracting party;
- the vehicle’s build number and identifying information;
- the language establishing the project’s licensing, authorization, or studio relationship;
- the approved build specification, including drivetrain, body materials, effects, interior, and finish;
- delivery acceptance documents and the process for documenting defects;
- warranty, maintenance, and service obligations;
- rules governing resale, transfer, public display, commercial appearances, and use of Batman or Warner Bros. intellectual property; and
- the legal status of the vehicle in the jurisdiction where it will be delivered.
The word replica matters legally. In DC Comics v. Towle, the Ninth Circuit recognized copyright protection in identifiable design elements of Batmobiles involved in a dispute over 1966 television and 1989 film replicas. That decision does not determine the contract for this later Tumbler project, but it is a useful warning: studio authorization, copyright, trademark, and resale rights are not details to assume from the shape of the body.
Ask specifically whether you are buying a vehicle with permission to display the design, a vehicle accompanied by a limited license, or a vehicle whose owner-use rights are restricted by contract. Those are different assets.
2. Treat $2.99 million as the acquisition price, not the ownership budget
The announced list price was $2.99 million per vehicle, which explains the common shorthand of a $3 million Batmobile. The proposed 10-unit run also makes scarcity part of the product’s value proposition. Neither fact tells you what the final delivered cost will be.
| Budget item | Why it needs separate verification |
|---|---|
| Vehicle price | Confirm whether the quoted $2.99 million is still valid, whether it covers the exact specification, and whether taxes or delivery are excluded. |
| Transport | A non-street-legal vehicle will generally need suitable enclosed transport, and its unusual width may eliminate ordinary car-hauler options. |
| Facility | The reported dimensions are approximately 15.25 feet long, 9.25 feet wide, and 60 inches tall. Door clearance, turning space, floor loading, ventilation, security, and service access all matter. |
| Insurance | Ask for specialty collector-car insurance or an equivalent policy that addresses agreed value, restricted road use, transport, storage, events, and liability. |
| Maintenance | Clarify service geography, labor rates, parts sourcing, replacement tires, drivetrain components, electronics, and movie-inspired effect systems. |
| Taxes and import costs | Sales tax, customs, duties, registration-related charges, and engineering or compliance work vary by destination. |
No verified public source in the researched material gives an all-in ownership figure. That means a buyer should not use the $2.99 million number as a complete financial plan. Obtain a written delivered-price calculation for the destination country, state, or territory.
Scarcity is announced, not automatically available
Reports described a planned run of 10 vehicles. Joe Burrow said during a 2024 Hard Knocks segment that he had bought one and expected to wait roughly a year for delivery. That supports the existence of at least one allocation and illustrates the bespoke production timeline; it does not prove that a new allocation remains available in 2026.

- Die-cast metal body. Opening doors and engine compartment.

As of the public information reviewed for this article on August 12, 2026, the searched sources did not establish whether Action Vehicle Engineering or the Wayne Enterprises Experience has an unallocated example, a resale allocation, or a current official buyer channel. Treat any claim that one is available as something to verify directly with the original seller or builder.
3. "Drivable" does not mean street legal
This is the most important practical distinction. The Tumbler has been described as functional and drivable, but multiple reports explicitly state that it is not street legal. In practical terms, it is intended for private property, controlled events, exhibitions, and suitable closed locations—not ordinary commuting or unrestricted public-road use.
Do not assume that a working engine, steering wheel, lights, seats, and brakes make it registrable as a normal passenger car. Federal replica-vehicle rules administered through NHTSA describe eligibility and production requirements for qualifying low-volume manufacturers; they are not a blanket guarantee that this particular Tumbler can be registered for unrestricted road use. State and local law still controls important parts of the ownership experience.
For example, Ohio’s replica-vehicle statute, effective December 27, 2025, allows specified operation connected with exhibitions, parades, tours, clubs, and maintenance, while prohibiting general transportation under the replica registration category. Ohio is one jurisdictional example, not a nationwide rule.
Get a written answer for the delivery location
Before signing, obtain a jurisdiction-specific opinion from a qualified vehicle lawyer, registration agency, or other competent authority. Ask these questions in writing:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Can the vehicle receive a title in the destination jurisdiction?
- Can it receive any plate or registration, and under what category?
- May it be driven on public roads for exhibitions, parades, tours, or events?
- Must every public-road movement be handled by trailer or enclosed transport?
- Are the vehicle’s dimensions acceptable for the intended roads, facilities, and transport equipment?
- Do lighting, emissions, braking, safety equipment, noise, or propulsion rules create additional restrictions?
- Will an insurer cover the vehicle while it is being transported, displayed, operated on private property, or driven under an event-related exception?
Do not rely on the seller’s description of the vehicle as "road ready" unless it is accompanied by a written legal determination for your location. A vehicle can be mechanically operable and legally confined to private property.

4. The hardware is spectacular, but the movie technology is not all real
The reported specification is impressive even after the cinematic claims are separated from the engineering. Coverage describes a tubular aeronautical-grade steel frame and exterior components made from combinations of Kevlar, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and steel. The reported powertrain is a GM-sourced 6.2-liter LS3 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.
Horsepower is quoted differently in public coverage—approximately 525 to 532 horsepower depending on the source and specification being cited. There is no independent test report in the researched material, so those figures should be treated as reported specifications, not as a verified dynamometer result.
| Feature | What to understand |
|---|---|
| Structure and body | A tubular steel frame with reported use of Kevlar, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and steel in the exterior and body components. |
| Engine and transmission | A reported 6.2-liter LS3 V8 and four-speed automatic transmission. |
| Cabin | Two seats, air conditioning, large infotainment displays, and a movie-inspired dashboard. |
| Effects | Reports describe a smoke-screen system and a jet-engine simulation. |
| What is absent | No functioning fire-spewing jet engine, weapons, ramp-free jumping capability, or other combat equipment from the films. |
| Protection | Despite the visual design, one report specifically states that the replica is not armored. |
The key buying question is whether a feature is structural, cosmetic, software-controlled, or purely theatrical. A smoke effect is not a smoke screen in the military sense. A jet-engine simulation is not a jet engine. An armored appearance is not armor.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUse an independent pre-delivery inspection
Have the finished vehicle inspected before final acceptance, ideally by a specialist who is independent of the builder. The inspection should document:
- engine identity, installation, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems;
- transmission operation and driveline vibration;
- braking performance, steering, suspension, and tire condition;
- frame, body attachment points, doors, glazing, and access panels;
- electrical architecture, battery isolation, infotainment, displays, and control software;
- fire suppression and emergency shutoff systems;
- smoke and other effect systems, including safe operating procedures;
- service access and the availability of replacement parts; and
- the exact dimensions and weight needed for transport and storage planning.
The public material does not provide verified acceleration, fuel economy, crash-test, durability, or long-term reliability results. Do not let a dramatic video substitute for those missing measurements.
5. Delivery, service, and storage are part of the purchase
Public reports indicated an approximately 15-month build or delivery period. Burrow’s roughly one-year estimate in 2024 is broadly consistent with a bespoke, limited-run production process rather than an immediately available showroom vehicle.

Put the production schedule in the contract
A serious agreement should define milestones such as:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- deposit and payment schedule;
- design and specification approval;
- chassis completion;
- drivetrain installation;
- body and interior completion;
- effects and systems testing;
- independent inspection;
- customer acceptance or rejection;
- enclosed transport; and
- final payment and delivery documentation.
It should also state what happens if the builder misses the delivery date, a component becomes unavailable, the finished vehicle differs from the approved specification, the jurisdiction rejects registration, or the buyer rejects the vehicle after inspection. Confirm whether the deposit is refundable, transferable, or forfeited if the project changes.
Plan service before the vehicle arrives
Ask where the vehicle will be serviced and who is authorized to work on its engine, transmission, electronics, body, and special effects. A conventional GM-derived engine may make some mechanical components easier to source than bespoke body or electronic parts, but that does not guarantee local serviceability. Warranty coverage, response times, parts inventory, software support, and builder access should all be written down.
Because the vehicle is reported to be about 111 inches wide, ordinary residential or commercial storage may not work. Measure the full route from unloading point to final bay, including gates, garage doors, ramps, corners, lifts, and fire exits. A suitable facility may need secure access, climate control, ventilation, fire protection, adequate floor loading, and room to open panels and perform maintenance. If you do not have that facility, compare secure exotic car storage or climate-controlled collector-car storage options before committing.
Likewise, arrange enclosed exotic-vehicle transport in advance rather than assuming a standard carrier can handle the Tumbler’s width, height, weight, loading angle, and non-road-legal status. Obtain the carrier’s written equipment dimensions and insurance limits.

Ordinary personal auto insurance is unlikely to answer every question raised by a $2.99 million bespoke vehicle. Seek specialty collector-car insurance or agreed-value collector-car coverage and confirm how the policy handles private-property driving, public exhibitions, transport, storage, theft, damage to effects equipment, and liability at events.

What kind of buyer should consider it?
This Tumbler makes sense only for a buyer who wants a scarce, licensed cinematic collectible with a real V8 and limited driveability—and who has the facility, transport plan, insurance, and legal advice to support it.
It is a poor fit if you want any of the following:
- a daily driver or unrestricted road car;
- a genuinely armored vehicle;
- working weapons or the film’s fire-spewing propulsion system;
- predictable sports-car performance supported by independent testing;
- ordinary dealership servicing;
- easy parking, towing, or storage; or
- a purchase that can be justified solely by a public resale market.
Before paying, require four independent confirmations: the seller’s authority to sell the specific example, the vehicle’s legal status where it will live, the complete delivered cost, and the builder’s warranty and service commitment. If any of those remains verbal, the deal is not ready.
If you want the Tumbler experience without buying the full-size vehicle
A smaller collectible is not an equivalent substitute, but it may be a more practical way to enjoy the design. LEGO’s official documentation identifies the 2,049-piece LEGO Batmobile Tumbler set 76240. It is a display-scale building set, not a 1:1 vehicle and not a licensed path to owning the full-size project.
LEGO also documented the LEGO Technic Batmobile Tumbler set 42239 as a remote-controlled Technic model with app control. The LEGO page reviewed for this article listed a $189.99 price and an August 1, 2026 release date; verify current stock and marketplace pricing before buying because those details can change. As with any marketplace model kit or die-cast collectible, check the manufacturer, scale, seller, licensing, and return policy rather than assuming that every Batman-branded Tumbler is official.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you drive the $3 million Batmobile replica on public roads?
Public reporting says the Tumbler replica is not street legal. Whether it can receive a title, plate, or limited event registration depends on the destination jurisdiction. Obtain written guidance before delivery; federal replica-vehicle rules do not guarantee unrestricted road use.
Is the Tumbler replica actually armored or equipped with Batman’s weapons?
No. Reports describe a smoke-screen system and a jet-engine simulation, but say the vehicle does not have a functioning fire-spewing jet engine, weapons, or ramp-free jumping capability. It is also reported to be unarmored.
Are any of the 10 Tumbler replicas still available?
The announced plan called for 10 vehicles, but the public information reviewed for this article does not establish whether an unallocated example or resale allocation exists as of August 12, 2026. Verify availability with the original seller or builder.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →How large is the full-size Tumbler replica?
The reported vehicle is approximately 15.25 feet long and 9.25 feet wide, or about 183 by 111 inches, and 60 inches tall. Measure every door, gate, ramp, turn, and service area before delivery.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The $3 million Tumbler is best understood as a limited, studio-authorized, hand-built cinematic collectible—not a street-legal supercar or a working movie Batmobile. Verify the specific vehicle’s provenance, local legal status, delivered cost, contract protections, service plan, insurance, transport, and storage before treating the $2.99 million price as a purchase opportunity.
