Among today’s quickest electric cars, the Rimac Nevera R has the highest listed top speed in this comparison at 430 km/h (267 mph), while the Tesla Model S Plaid’s advertised 200 mph is conditional on a paid hardware upgrade. The five entries below cover named high-performance variants, not a single model-year ranking: some figures are manufacturer specifications and others are Car and Driver test results. Acceleration times also use different intervals, so 0–60 mph and 0–100 km/h should not be read as directly equivalent.

- Manufacturer specifications are claims published by the automaker; they are not independent test results.
- Car and Driver results are publication test figures for the model years identified below, not a standardized comparison of the manufacturers’ claims.
- Acceleration intervals differ: 0–60 mph is not the same measurement as 0–100 km/h. The sources cited here do not state a rollout qualification for every time, so none is inferred.
- Top speed can depend on configuration. The Tesla figure requires particular hardware, and Porsche’s specifications cited here are for the Middle East & Africa market.

Rimac lists the Nevera R at 1.72 seconds from 0–100 km/h and a 430 km/h (267 mph) top speed. Those are the current product-page specifications; the page does not provide a publication date. The R is a separate variant, not another name for the base Nevera. Rimac Nevera specifications

3. Lucid Air Sapphire
Lucid’s final production-specification announcement, dated August 8, 2023, claimed 1.89 seconds from 0–60 mph and a 205 mph top speed for the Air Sapphire. Car and Driver separately reports 2.1 seconds to 60 mph and 207 mph for its tested 2024 car. These are different source types and should remain separate rather than being treated as a direct disagreement over a single test. 4. Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package
For the 2025 Taycan Turbo GT Weissach, Porsche Middle East & Africa lists 2.2 seconds from 0–100 km/h and 305 km/h (about 190 mph). Porsche warns that specifications can differ by market. Car and Driver reports 1.9 seconds to 60 mph and 190 mph for its 2025 test. The acceleration numbers use different intervals; the top-speed figures are close but come from different sources. 5. Tesla Model S Plaid
Car and Driver’s test of a 2021 Model S Plaid recorded 2.1 seconds to 60 mph and a governor-limited 162 mph. Tesla currently lists 163 mph without its paid hardware upgrade and says the Plaid can reach 200 mph with the upgrade. Which one is quickest?
For the highest listed top speed among these five entries, the Nevera R leads at 430 km/h. The fastest listed acceleration time is also the Nevera R’s 1.72 seconds, but that is measured to 100 km/h; it cannot be ranked directly against the 0–60 mph times reported for the Lucid, Porsche, and Tesla. Among the Car and Driver figures cited here, the Lucid Air Sapphire has the highest tested top speed at 207 mph, while the Porsche and Tesla recorded 190 mph and 162 mph respectively.
