The 2027 Volvo EX60 is an all-electric mid-size SUV whose U.S. range depends on powertrain and wheel size: the P6 is EPA-estimated at up to 307 miles, while the P10 AWD reaches up to 330 miles. Volvo lists a starting price of $58,400 before destination. Its 400-mile P12 figure remains a preliminary U.S. estimate in the sources available here, not an EPA-certified result. The sustainability case is similarly specific: Volvo reports a 23-tonne life-cycle footprint for one rear-wheel-drive configuration under a European electricity-mix assumption, not a universal comparison with other SUVs.
What is the 2027 Volvo EX60?
Volvo describes the EX60 as an all-electric mid-size SUV built on its SPA3 platform. The company says the platform combines a cell-to-body battery, in-house electric motors, a new battery-cell design and megacasting. How much range does the EX60 have?
Volvo Car USA reported the following EPA-certified estimates for the P6 and P10 AWD on July 23, 2026. The wheel-size distinction matters: larger 22-inch wheels carry lower estimates in both configurations. What about the P12’s 400-mile claim?
Volvo’s May 2026 U.S. launch announcement gave the P12 AWD a preliminary estimate of up to 400 miles and said official EPA estimates would follow. The July certification announcement cited here provides figures for P6 and P10 AWD, not P12. Treat 400 miles as a preliminary manufacturer estimate, not an EPA-certified number. How do the UK figures differ?
Volvo’s UK model overview uses WLTP figures, a different test cycle from U.S. EPA estimates. It lists P6 with an 83 kWh battery, 374 hp and up to 380 miles; P10 with 95 kWh, 510 hp and up to 503 miles; and P12 with 117 kWh, 680 hp and up to 410 miles. What does the EX60 cost in the United States?
Volvo’s May 2026 U.S. announcement listed these MSRPs. Each excludes the additional $1,395 destination fee.

How quickly can the EX60 charge, and can it use Tesla Superchargers?
Volvo says the EX60 uses an 800-volt electrical system. Its launch announcement estimated the following charging performance at a suitably capable DC fast charger:

These are Volvo estimates, not guaranteed everyday results. The launch figures assume a station that does not limit the vehicle’s charging capacity. Volvo’s later P10 announcement says its peak estimate uses a DC charger capable of up to 400 kW with the battery preconditioned. In Volvo’s U.S. trim description, the P6 Plus includes a 15-inch OLED touchscreen, Google built-in with Gemini, Pilot Assist, a 21-speaker Bose Premium Sound system and the Safe Space Technology suite. Ultra adds ventilated Nappa leather upholstery, a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Premium Sound system, a dimmable electrochromic panoramic roof and heated second-row booster seats. Volvo identifies HuginCore as the EX60’s core computing system, says the vehicle supports regular over-the-air updates, and describes it as the first Volvo to launch with Google Gemini. Those are manufacturer-stated features; they do not guarantee the timing or behavior of future software updates.
What does Volvo’s sustainability evidence show?
Volvo’s Carbon Footprint Report assesses a rear-wheel-drive EX60 variant with an 83 kWh battery. Its cradle-to-grave boundary runs from raw-material extraction and refining through end-of-life treatment. The report says IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute reviewed it and describes its assessment as following ISO 14067 guidance and using IPCC characterization factors. For that assessed configuration, Volvo reports 117 g CO2e/km and 23 tonnes CO2e over the full life cycle, assuming charging with the European electricity mix. Volvo says the result is 26% lower than its modeled equivalent vehicle without the stated mitigation measures. The report cautions: “The findings are not directly comparable with those of other studies, except where the same methodology and assumptions have been applied.” The figures therefore do not establish a universal ranking against competing SUVs.
The measures the report discusses include megacasting the aluminum rear floor, cell-to-body battery design, renewable or fossil-free energy in industrial operations, recycled materials, supplier-specific footprint and materials data, and Volvo-sourced steel and aluminum. These are elements of Volvo’s modeled footprint assessment, not proof that every EX60 configuration has the same result.

What is not established by these figures?
- The P12’s final U.S. EPA range is not provided in the cited July 2026 certification announcement.
- The cited material does not provide independent road-test results, independent crash-test scores, or comparative safety outcomes.
- The life-cycle report does not support a direct competitor ranking unless the comparison uses aligned boundaries, methods and electricity assumptions.
Volvo says the EX60 includes a boron-steel-reinforced safety cage, sensor-based monitoring through HuginCore, and a multi-adaptive safety belt for front-row occupants.
