Subaru’s 2027 WRX GD25 and BRZ ZC15 are limited-run U.S. anniversary editions with heritage-inspired styling and added performance hardware. Subaru announced the WRX at 350 units and the BRZ at 300; both have six-speed manual transmissions, but the WRX is an all-wheel-drive sedan and the BRZ a rear-drive coupe. Prices have not been announced.
What Subaru announced
Subaru of America announced the 2027 editions on September 28, 2026. Their names nod to earlier chassis codes: GD refers to the first WRX to arrive in the United States in 2002, while ZC refers to the first-generation BRZ, which arrived in 2012. The anniversaries mark those U.S. arrivals—not the models’ global launch dates. Subaru’s announcement calls them anniversary editions; “throwback” describes their heritage-inspired theme.
Subaru said reservations would begin in 2026, with BRZ ZC15 availability planned for early 2027 and WRX GD25 arrival planned for summer 2027. Those are plans stated at announcement, not confirmation of current inventory. Subaru said detailed specifications and pricing would come closer to launch, so prices remain unannounced.

The figures and planned timing are from Subaru of America’s announcement; no independent test results or prices were provided. The WRX is the higher-output, AWD choice, while the BRZ is the lower-output, rear-drive coupe.

What is different on the WRX GD25?
Rally-inspired exterior and hardware
The GD25 is available only in World Rally Blue, with gold-painted 19-inch alloy wheels, gold-painted Brembo brake calipers and Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires. It adds an STI dry-carbon-fiber swan-neck rear wing, which Subaru says is the same component used on Travis Pastrana’s WRX ARA25L rally car.
Subaru also specifies a flexible strut tower bar and performance-tuned suspension with stiffer springs and revised damping calibration. These are announced equipment details, not independent evidence of how the car performs on the road or track.

What is different on the BRZ ZC15?
White-and-bronze anniversary treatment
The ZC15 comes exclusively in Ceramic White, with matte bronze wheels, red-painted Brembo calipers and bronze side-sill decals. Subaru describes the color combination as an homage to the 2020 BRZ tS scheme. A black decklid spoiler and flexible V-bar are also included.

Rear-drive, manual-only specification
The ZC15 uses a 228-hp, 2.4-liter Subaru BOXER engine, a six-speed manual and rear-wheel drive. Its cabin has black leather-appointed upholstery with Bordeaux red inserts, plus a unique ZC15 anniversary plaque near the STI short shifter.
How these differ from the 2026 Series.Yellow editions
These 2027 editions are separate from Subaru’s 2026 Series.Yellow WRX and BRZ, announced in September 2025. Those were tS-based, Sunrise Yellow, manual-only editions limited to 350 units each. The shared use of special-edition treatment does not mean the cars have the same equipment, styling or mechanical specification. What remains unknown
Subaru has not announced prices or detailed final specifications. Its release does not establish dealer allocations, current inventory or exact accessory compatibility beyond the equipment it names. Until pricing and ordering details are released, buyers can compare the announced configurations and planned arrival windows, but not determine which edition offers better value.
