Choose the Power Wagon for a heavy-duty platform and its off-road equipment
The Power Wagon makes more sense if you want a Ram 2500 and prioritize its off-road-oriented equipment. Ram specifically highlights the 2500 Power Wagon’s electronic locking front differential as class-exclusive. For historical context only, Ram’s 2024 capacity guide listed the earlier TRX’s 6.2L supercharged HEMI at 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. That is a 2024 specification, not a confirmed output for the 2027 TRX SRT. The same 2024 guide gave the earlier TRX a 1,310-pound payload maximum, unlike the 2027 page’s 1,220-pound figure; use the rating for the model year being considered.
