The first reported sighting of the redesigned 2027 Nissan Rogue showed a heavily camouflaged prototype, but the original spy report did not establish that it was being tested in hot weather. Nissan has since unveiled the new Rogue Hybrid e-POWER and announced U.S. trim, pricing and expected arrival timing, so early predictions can now be separated from confirmed details.
What did the first 2027 Rogue spy photos show?
Car and Driver published its first-sighting report on January 26, 2026, crediting spy photographers KGP Photography. Its photos showed a prototype covered in tight-fitting camouflage. The camouflage obscured production details, so the styling observations are interpretations of the images rather than Nissan specifications.

- The front appeared to have a more ornate grille above a trapezoidal lower intake.
- High-mounted headlights appeared to sit above a hooked LED element.
- The side-window profile looked different and might create a floating-roof effect.
- The rear appeared to have horizontal lamps with new graphics.
- The overall shape looked somewhat larger and sleeker to the publication.
The report described the prototype as testing for the first time, but did not itself establish the hot-weather setting. The temperature condition should therefore be treated as part of the headline framing, not as independently verified information. Car and Driver’s January 26, 2026 report is the source for the sighting and its photo-based observations.

Nissan previewed the all-new Rogue Hybrid e-POWER on April 14, 2026, saying it was planned for U.S. and Canadian launch in late 2026. On September 21, 2026, Nissan fully unveiled the hybrid. The later announcement confirmed the hybrid direction anticipated by the spy report, but does not turn the camouflage-era styling interpretations into official specifications.

How does Rogue Hybrid e-POWER work?
In Nissan’s e-POWER arrangement, electric motors drive the wheels and a gasoline engine generates electricity. Nissan says the engine is never connected to the wheels. The vehicle refuels with gasoline; it is not a plug-in hybrid.

Nissan describes the system as delivering an electric-motor driving feel. That is the manufacturer’s characterization. The cited announcements do not establish an EPA fuel-economy rating for the new hybrid or independent comparisons of its acceleration, noise, or fuel savings against the conventional Rogue or rivals. Nissan’s September 21, 2026 unveil announcement explains the system and its launch sequence.
When does the 2027 Rogue Hybrid arrive, and what does it cost?
Nissan’s U.S. product page, accessed October 4, 2026, lists the following hybrid grades and manufacturer-published U.S. MSRPs. Availability dates are announced expectations, not guaranteed dealer delivery dates.

How is the conventional 2027 Rogue different?
The conventional Rogue and Rogue Hybrid are separate powertrain offerings, not one shared trim ladder. Nissan’s September 2026 U.S. press kit lists the conventional model with a 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine and Xtronic CVT. It gives the engine output as 201 hp and an estimated maximum of 28 mpg city, 33 highway and 30 combined for S and SV with front-wheel drive. These are Nissan estimates for those conventional trims; they are not hybrid ratings.

| Powertrain | 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine and Xtronic CVT |
| Published fuel-economy estimate | Up to 28 city / 33 highway / 30 combined mpg for S/SV FWD |
The conventional lineup’s features should not be assumed to apply to the hybrid. For example, Nissan lists Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires and a tubular roof rack with integrated cross bars among Rock Creek equipment, but the cited material does not establish those items as hybrid equipment. See the 2027 Rogue press kit for the conventional model’s grades and specifications.

What remains unknown about the new hybrid?
Nissan’s U.S. product information lists five seats, five LATCH points, two rear USB-C ports and 39 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the rear seats upright. It does not supply an EPA mpg rating for the new hybrid in the cited material. Nor do the announcements provide independent comparative results for real-world economy, acceleration, cabin noise or performance against competitors. Those numbers should not be inferred from the e-POWER layout or borrowed from the conventional Rogue’s estimates.
