When is the Navara Pro PHEV coming to Australia?
Nissan announced the model on 8 October 2026 and says it will join local lineups in 2027. Australia and New Zealand are set to be the first right-hand-drive markets globally to offer it. Nissan has not given a retail arrival date within 2027. The announced PHEV is not yet on sale and is separate from the diesel Navara lineup.

The Oceania specification pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a high-output electric motor integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission. Nissan’s preliminary combined system figures are 300kW and 800Nm, subject to final homologation.

What the output figures mean
Nissan’s vehicle page describes 300kW and 800Nm as maximum combined system figures achieved under ideal test conditions. They are not a promise that the ute will deliver those figures in every situation: Nissan says actual performance can vary with battery state of charge, selected drive mode, temperature and driving conditions. No independent real-world performance results have been published in the cited announcement.

The announcement does not establish how those capacities or off-road features perform in independent testing. Final specifications will be needed to assess the ute’s practical capability and compare it fairly with alternatives.

Nissan says it will provide final specifications, equipment, pricing and estimated EV-only driving range closer to the vehicle’s 2027 retail arrival. The cited information does not state:

Those gaps matter for assessing running costs, charging needs and suitability for a particular tow or load. No range or charging figure should be inferred from another model or market.
What Nissan says about Australian development
Nissan says it evaluated a 1.5-litre and a new 2.0-litre turbo petrol PHEV drivetrain before selecting the 2.0-litre setup for Oceania, with towing, payload and sustained performance among the local priorities. The company says teams in Australia, Japan and China collaborated and carried out thousands of kilometres of Australian-condition testing. These are Nissan’s descriptions of its development program, not independent test findings.
