Mercedes-Benz says the 2027 EQS 450+ can travel up to 925 km (about 575 miles) on a charge under the WLTP test cycle. That is a preliminary manufacturer figure, not a finalized U.S. range rating or a promise of real-world highway distance. Mercedes-Benz said official test values were not available when it announced the update on April 13, 2026. Read the announcement and its qualifications.
Is the EQS’s 575-mile range official?
Not as a finalized U.S. rating. The 575-mile headline is a rounded conversion of Mercedes-Benz’s preliminary claim of 925 km WLTP for the EQS 450+. The company said recognized official test values, EC type approval and a certificate of conformity with official values were not available at announcement time, and that deviations were possible. WLTP is a standardized test-cycle result; it should not be read as a guaranteed distance in everyday driving.
The figure also should not be conflated with the current UK specification. Mercedes-Benz UK lists 542 miles WLTP for its EQS 450+—a different regional listing, not confirmation of the U.S. announcement’s preliminary 575-mile figure. See Mercedes-Benz UK’s EQS Saloon specifications.
How the UK-listed EQS trims compare
Mercedes-Benz UK’s live specification page lists these figures for three EQS Saloon trims. They are UK-market WLTP specifications and should not be treated as specifications for another market or model year.

These figures are the values shown on Mercedes-Benz UK’s current page, accessed October 8, 2026. The U.S. announcement separately gives the EQS 450+, EQS 500 4MATIC and EQS 580 4MATIC a usable battery capacity of 122 kWh, but that does not make the UK trim lineup or ratings interchangeable with U.S. specifications.
What changed in the 2027 EQS?
Mercedes-Benz attributes the range and efficiency gains to a revised electric platform and battery. The updated EQS uses 800-volt technology, new in-house electric drive units and a two-speed transmission on the rear main drive unit. The company says the EQS 450+, EQS 500 4MATIC and EQS 580 4MATIC receive a battery with 122 kWh of usable capacity and revised cell chemistry.

The car’s stated drag coefficient is 0.20. Other announced changes include recuperation of up to 385 kW, updated DIGITAL LIGHT, cloud-based AIRMATIC damper control, and optional steer-by-wire. Those are manufacturer specifications and feature descriptions, not independent test results.
How quickly can the new EQS charge?
Mercedes-Benz quotes peak DC charging power of up to 350 kW and says the car can add up to 320 km WLTP of range in 10 minutes under its stated charging method. Both are conditional maximum manufacturer figures, not a guarantee that every charging stop will deliver that result. Charging performance depends on the vehicle, charger and conditions.

At 400-volt charging stations, Mercedes-Benz says the EQS can charge at up to 175 kW. The release does not establish home-charger compatibility or installation requirements; owners should confirm the specific vehicle’s connector and electrical needs with a qualified installer and local guidance.

The 2027 update brings MB.OS, over-the-air vehicle software updates and AI-enabled MBUX features. Mercedes-Benz says the MBUX Hyperscreen, spanning more than 55 inches, is standard. Announced comfort and convenience features include heated front seatbelts and an optional rear entertainment package.

What can buyers conclude about real-world range and availability?
The announcement supports a preliminary WLTP claim, but not a verified road-range figure. No independent real-world test of the updated production 2027 EQS is established here, so there is no basis to translate 575 miles into a guaranteed highway range. Mercedes-Benz said U.S. dealership arrival was expected in the second half of 2026; that timing statement does not establish current dealer availability. Check with a local Mercedes-Benz retailer for the model year, trim, official local range rating and delivery status.
