There is no 2026-model-year Telluride Hybrid in Kia’s U.S. materials: Kia identifies its first Telluride Hybrid as a 2027 model. Kia initially targeted a U.S. launch in the first quarter of 2026, but that announcement does not confirm current inventory at any particular dealer. The announced starting MSRP is $46,490 for the EX FWD, and its 35-mpg combined EPA estimate does not apply to every trim.
Why the hybrid is a 2027, not a 2026
Kia unveiled the all-new Telluride in November 2025 and identified the hybrid as part of the 2027 model lineup. Its announcement said the 2027 Telluride was anticipated to go on sale in the United States in Q1 2026. That was a planned launch window, not a guarantee of when a specific dealer would have one available. Kia’s current U.S. Telluride Hybrid page also labels it a 2027 model.
Price and the advertised range
Kia America announced a $46,490 starting MSRP for the 2027 Telluride Hybrid EX FWD; Kia’s current model page lists the same figure. Kia says its MSRP excludes destination and handling, taxes, title, license fees, options and dealer charges. Dealers set actual prices, which may vary. Check Kia’s model page for current pricing details.
Kia advertises a 637-mile total range and 35 mpg combined for the EX FWD. Those figures belong to that configuration, not to every Telluride Hybrid. Kia cautions that mileage varies with options, driving conditions, driving habits and vehicle condition.

Powertrain: a hybrid you do not plug in
Kia says the system pairs a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric hybrid system for a combined 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. It uses a 1.65-kWh hybrid battery and a six-speed automatic transmission. This is not a plug-in hybrid: Kia says drivers do not need to connect it to a charger. Regenerative braking captures energy during deceleration and braking to recharge the battery. Kia’s specifications and FAQ describe the system.

Kia publishes different EPA-estimated figures according to configuration. The table shows city, highway and combined miles per gallon:

These are Kia-published EPA estimates, not independent real-world test results. Kia says actual mileage can vary with options, driving conditions, driving habits and vehicle condition. If comparing versions, use the estimate for the specific trim and drivetrain rather than carrying the EX FWD figure across the lineup. Kia lists the figures on its model page.
Seating, space and towing
Kia describes the hybrid as seating up to seven. In its unveiling announcement, the company said the new generation is longer, offers more cargo and interior space, and improves access to the third row compared with the previous generation. Those are manufacturer descriptions; independent measurements and road-test findings are not established here. Kia’s unveiling announcement provides the comparison.

Kia lists a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 lb and an available tow hitch. The rating is a manufacturer-published specification, not an independent towing test. Kia says towing requires additional equipment and directs owners to the Owner’s Manual for instructions. Confirm the requirements for the exact vehicle before towing; do not assume an advertised hitch or a third-party part fits every model year and trim. Hybrid warranty
Kia lists a 10-year/100,000-mile Hybrid Powertrain Limited Warranty and says the hybrid and battery pack are covered by Kia’s Limited Warranty for 10 years or 100,000 miles. The headline term does not describe every condition or exclusion; the applicable warranty booklet governs coverage. See Kia’s warranty information for the model.

What to compare before choosing a Telluride Hybrid
The key trade-offs are configuration-specific: the EX FWD has the published $46,490 starting MSRP and the lineup’s highest listed fuel-economy figures, while Kia lists lower MPG estimates for SX FWD and AWD trims. Match those figures to your needs for drivetrain, seating and cargo, towing, and the applicable warranty terms.
