On Kia’s published U.S. price and range figures, Wind FWD is the least expensive way into that range claim, at $34,990 before destination. That makes it the clearest trim to investigate if range per dollar is your priority—not a universal best pick, and not a verdict based on a test drive.
What the 2027 Kia EV3 costs in the U.S.
Kia America announced 2027 EV3 pricing on August 12, 2026. The manufacturer’s suggested retail prices below exclude a $1,495 destination charge, taxes, title, license, options and retailer charges; actual retailer prices may vary. These are not out-the-door prices.
| Configuration | MSRP before destination | Kia-published range claim |
|---|---|---|
| Light FWD | $29,890 | Kia’s April launch announcement said up to 320 miles estimated; the August pricing release does not identify it as a 321-mile trim. |
| Wind FWD | $34,990 | Up to 321 miles |
| Wind AWD | $38,690 | No 321-mile claim for this configuration in the August pricing release |
| Land FWD | $38,490 | Up to 321 miles |
| Land AWD | $41,690 | No 321-mile claim for this configuration in the August pricing release |
| GT-Line AWD | $43,490 | No 321-mile claim for this configuration in the August pricing release |
| GT AWD | $45,890 | No 321-mile claim for this configuration in the August pricing release; Kia lists 288 horsepower |
These prices and trim-specific range distinctions come from Kia America’s August 12, 2026 pricing announcement. Kia’s earlier April 1, 2026 launch announcement introduced the five trim families and said the EV3 would offer up to 320 miles estimated. Because the later pricing release names Wind FWD and Land FWD for the 321-mile claim, do not treat every EV3 configuration as having the same maximum range.
Which EV3 trim should you pick?
Wind FWD: the range-per-dollar starting point
Wind FWD costs $3,500 more than Light FWD and is one of the two configurations Kia says can reach up to 321 miles. If you are choosing from Kia’s published price and range figures alone, it is the least expensive way into those two 321-mile configurations. That is a price-and-range recommendation, not a claim that Wind is the best-equipped or best-driving EV3.

Land FWD: compare the added equipment
Land FWD is the other configuration Kia lists at up to 321 miles. It costs $3,500 more than Wind FWD. The pricing announcement does not provide a complete feature-by-feature trim comparison, so check Kia’s current equipment list to decide whether Land’s additional features justify the difference for you.
When another version may fit better
Light FWD has the lowest starting price, while the listed AWD configurations and the GT AWD address buyers considering all-wheel drive or the higher-performance GT. The August pricing release does not attach the 321-mile claim to those AWD versions. Your preferred drivetrain, cold-weather equipment, comfort and technology features, local inventory and actual transaction price can all change which configuration makes sense. Kia describes the EV3 as the most affordable EV in its own lineup; that is not a claim that it is the least expensive EV on the market.

What Kia says about range and efficiency
Kia’s current U.S. EV page displays 321 miles of EPA-estimated range and 104 combined MPGe for the 2027 EV3. Treat these as manufacturer-published estimates, not guaranteed results for every trim or a prediction of your driving range. Kia says range can vary with equipment and driving, weather and vehicle conditions. For the trim-specific maximum, the August pricing release identifies Wind FWD and Land FWD—not the entire lineup—as the versions rated for up to 321 miles.
The cited official material does not establish independently measured real-world range or provide a first-drive assessment of ride, handling or cabin noise. Those impressions should not be inferred from the specifications.

Charging: NACS port and Kia’s fast-charge estimate
Kia says the U.S. EV3 has a built-in NACS charge port. Its August pricing announcement estimates a 10-to-80% charge in approximately 29 minutes for Light and 31 minutes for the other listed trims when using a 350 kW DC charger. Kia’s estimate is conditional: it specifies an 800V charger and a battery temperature of approximately 72°F, and says actual charging times vary with conditions. Kia also advises minimizing frequent DC fast charging because it can negatively affect battery performance and durability.
Kia’s current EV page says Kia Charge Pass offers access to more than 47,000 DC fast chargers, including more than 30,000 Tesla Superchargers; network counts can change, and Kia notes adapters may be required depending on the vehicle and station. For the EV3 specifically, Kia’s pricing release identifies an integrated NACS port, so do not assume a separate NACS adapter is required.

Home charging: what to check before installation
Kia’s general charging guide describes Level 1 charging from a standard 120V outlet and Level 2 charging from a 240V installation. It says Level 2 is suited to EVs and frequent charging and is typically professionally installed. These are general Kia guidance, not an EV3-specific circuit specification or a charge-time or cost quote for this vehicle.
- Ask a qualified installer to assess your home’s electrical capacity and installation requirements.
- Confirm the EVSE connector and cable arrangement you need for the EV3’s charging port.
- Check local utility programs and installation costs before budgeting.
Kia’s guide supports considering a Level 2 EV charger as a home-charging category; it does not endorse a particular brand or establish an EV3-specific electrical setup.
