- Rear: vertical rear lamps, reportedly replacing the current design’s low-mounted horizontal lights.
- Overall shape: the boxy silhouette is expected to remain.
AutoIndustriya’s Marcus De Guzman also reported on February 19 that a heavily camouflaged prototype had been photographed testing in snow. That report likewise speculated about updated lighting and a revised grille. Neither report establishes the final design.
Does the January 2026 date check out?

What is reported about the cabin?
Autoblog says long-lens images appear to show a large central screen and a smaller driver display, and connects the setup to Hyundai’s Android Automotive OS-based PLEOS infotainment. This is a spy-photo interpretation, not confirmation that the refreshed Santa Fe will receive PLEOS or those displays in production. Final cabin equipment and trim availability have not been established by the sources cited here.
What Hyundai has confirmed about the Santa Fe EREV
Hyundai Motor Company’s September 2026 CEO Investor Day announcement says a Santa Fe EREV is expected in the first half of 2027 and will be built in the United States at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama. Hyundai expects it to deliver more than 600 miles of total range. That figure is the automaker’s expectation, not an independent test result. Hyundai described the plan this way: “The new SANTA FE EREV will arrive in the first half of 2027, representing an uncompromising approach to electrification.”
