The Extended Range grade has been removed, leaving Standard Range and Cross. CarExpert reports that Hyundai Australia attributed the decision to slower sales for the Extended Range than for the remaining grades; that explanation is reported second-hand, not as a direct quotation from a named spokesperson. The optional roof basket is also reported to be no longer available for this range.

How Standard Range and Cross differ
Inster Standard Range
The Standard Range pairs a 42kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery with a 71kW electric motor producing 147Nm. It drives the front wheels and has a claimed 327km WLTP range. Its lower reported price makes it the entry point to the 2027 range.
Inster Cross
The Cross has a 49kWh battery and an 85kW motor, also producing 147Nm, with front-wheel drive. Its claimed WLTP range is 360km. CarExpert reports that it adds exterior cladding, 17-inch alloy wheels and leatherette upholstery; the seats can fold completely flat. Confirm exact equipment against a current Australian specification sheet, as grade details can change.

Equipment and charging
CarExpert reports that standard equipment includes LED headlights, keyless entry and start, a 10.25-inch infotainment display, embedded satellite navigation with over-the-air updates, a wireless phone charger and Hyundai Bluelink connected services. Hyundai Australia’s general Inster page publishes the 327km and 360km WLTP figures for corresponding battery and powertrain configurations and says charging from 10% to 80% takes about 30 minutes. That general information does not by itself confirm the revised 2027 grade lineup or every grade’s equipment.
How the Inster fits the Australian small-EV market
CarExpert reports 547 Inster deliveries through the end of August 2026, compared with 207 Mini Cooper Electric deliveries and 3,838 BYD Atto 1 deliveries over the same period. These are August year-to-date figures, not full-year totals. The same report says the Honda Super-One had arrived in local showrooms at $36,900 drive-away, with waiting lists of up to 12 months, while the BYD Atto 1 Essential was being offered at $19,990 drive-away. Those are time-sensitive price and availability snapshots, not a like-for-like comparison of range, space, equipment or purchase terms.
