The 2026 Volvo XC90 starts at $62,445 for a gas mild-hybrid model and $77,595 for the T8 plug-in hybrid, according to Volvo Car USA’s listed starting MSRPs. Both powertrain types come in Core, Plus and Ultra trims. The SUV is offered with six or seven seats, and Volvo lists a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.
These are US-market manufacturer prices and estimates, not guaranteed transaction prices. Volvo says MSRP includes destination but excludes taxes and other charges; retailers set actual prices.
How much does the 2026 Volvo XC90 cost?
Volvo Car USA lists the following starting MSRPs for the 2026 XC90. The prices below include the $1,395 destination charge shown on Volvo’s current model pages.

What are the 2026 Volvo XC90 trim levels?
Core, Plus and Ultra are offered for both the gas mild-hybrid and T8 plug-in hybrid XC90. The broad equipment progression is similar, but check the current US configurator for the exact equipment and package availability on a specific powertrain.

What is the difference between the XC90 B5, B6 and plug-in hybrid?
The B5 and B6 are gas-powered mild hybrids with all-wheel drive. Volvo’s published figures show the B6 has more power and quicker acceleration, while the B5 has the higher estimated fuel economy. The T8 is a plug-in hybrid, so it can drive on electric power for a limited distance when charged.

Volvo identifies the gas-model MPG figures as EPA estimates and labels power figures preliminary estimates; actual fuel economy and acceleration vary with conditions. T8 electric and total-range figures are also estimates, and actual range depends on driving behavior, conditions, battery condition and other factors. MPGe is a measure of energy efficiency, not miles per gallon of gasoline.

How many miles can the 2026 XC90 plug-in hybrid drive on electricity?
Volvo Car USA estimates up to 32 miles of electric range for the 2026 T8 plug-in hybrid under EPA test cycles. Volvo also gives an estimated total range of up to 530 miles with a full tank and charged battery. These are estimates rather than a promise of real-world range; driving style, conditions and battery condition can affect the distance.

How much can the 2026 Volvo XC90 tow?
Volvo lists a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds for both gas versions and the T8 plug-in hybrid. This is the manufacturer’s stated maximum; confirm the selected configuration’s requirements and follow the vehicle’s owner information when towing.
2026 Volvo XC90 dimensions and other specifications
Volvo lists an automatic transmission, all-wheel drive and an 18.8-gallon fuel capacity for the gas versions. Published curb weights are 4,442 pounds for the B5 and 4,471 pounds for the B6. Seating is six or seven, depending on configuration. Consult Volvo’s live US specifications page for detailed T8 power and charging specifications rather than relying on figures for other markets or model years.
2026 Volvo XC90 photos and design
Volvo’s US model presentation shows the XC90’s sculpted body, slim headlights, grille and bumper design. Its styling presentation identifies Bright trim, with chrome accents, and Dark trim, with high-gloss black accents; it also shows 20-, 21- and 22-inch wheel designs. Volvo notes that some pictured wheel sizes are not available in the US market.
Photos may show a more expensive trim or optional equipment, so an image should not be treated as proof that a feature or wheel is standard on the listed starting-price vehicle. Compare the photo’s configuration with the equipment on the vehicle you intend to buy.
