The 2026 Toyota reliability ratings are not one universal score: the most complete numeric ranking available is iSeeCars, where the Land Cruiser leads Toyota models at 8.8/10. Consumer Reports ranks Toyota No. 1 among brands, while the redesigned 2026 RAV4 has no numeric predicted-reliability score.

This ranking separates the available iSeeCars scores from Consumer Reports’ new-car predictions and J.D. Power’s three-year-owner dependability results. No source in the research publishes a directly comparable numeric reliability score for every 2026 Toyota, so models with insufficient evidence are identified as NR/NA instead of being assigned a guessed number.

Key takeaways

  • According to iSeeCars (2026), the Toyota Land Cruiser has the highest available Toyota reliability score at 8.8/10, followed by the Tacoma and Highlander Hybrid at 8.2/10.
  • Consumer Reports ranked Toyota No. 1 among brands for 2026 new-car reliability using reliability and owner-satisfaction data from about 380,000 vehicles.
  • Consumer Reports expects the 2026 4Runner to be much more reliable than the average new car, while the 2026 Tundra is expected to have about-average reliability.
  • The redesigned 2026 RAV4 is offered as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid and has a positive Consumer Reports expectation, but Consumer Reports reports no numeric predicted-reliability score for the new generation.
  • NR/NA means a numeric score was unavailable or coming soon; NR/NA does not mean that a Toyota model is unreliable.

Which 2026 Toyota has the highest reliability score?

The Toyota Land Cruiser has the highest available 2026 Toyota reliability score: iSeeCars lists it at 8.8/10. The iSeeCars ranking is the most complete comparable numeric ordering located for Toyota models, but the score is an iSeeCars long-lasting-vehicle score rather than a Consumer Reports predicted-reliability score or a direct 2026 model-year test.

What does the iSeeCars score measure?

The iSeeCars score is based on the company’s proprietary analysis of long-lasting vehicles. iSeeCars says its broader rankings analyze data from more than 12 million cars and incorporate value retention and safety information into its overall ranking framework. The 8.8/10 Land Cruiser result therefore indicates a strong historical long-term durability signal in iSeeCars’ system; it should not be presented as a laboratory reliability grade for every 2026 Land Cruiser.

iSeeCars also displays some powertrain variants separately, including the Tacoma Hybrid, Sequoia Hybrid, 4Runner Hybrid, Tundra Hybrid, and RAV4 Hybrid. A separately displayed variant should be labeled as a variant, not treated as an independent 2026 model-year reliability test. Where iSeeCars shows the same reliability value for a model and a variant, the shared value should not be averaged with another source or interpreted as separate evidence.

What is the difference between iSeeCars, Consumer Reports, and J.D. Power reliability ratings?

The three sources answer different reliability questions, so their ratings should not be averaged into a new Toyota score.

How to interpret the major 2026 Toyota reliability sources
Source What the source measures How to use the result Directly comparable with the others?
iSeeCars A proprietary 10-point analysis focused on long-lasting vehicles Useful for ordering the available Toyota durability scores; the Land Cruiser leads at 8.8/10 No; it is not a Consumer Reports prediction or J.D. Power dependability count
Consumer Reports Predicted new-car reliability based on survey data, technical knowledge, and, where necessary, brand-level information Useful for estimating how a new model may perform compared with the average new car No; Consumer Reports does not use the iSeeCars 10-point scale
J.D. Power Problems reported by owners of three-year-old vehicles, with adequate sample size required for model awards Useful as a lagging dependability check on vehicles that have already accumulated three years of ownership No; the study does not directly predict a brand-new 2026 redesign

Consumer Reports is the best source in this dossier for a brand-level 2026 new-car verdict, iSeeCars supplies the broadest numeric Toyota ordering, and J.D. Power supplies older-vehicle dependability context. Keeping those roles separate prevents a precise-looking but invalid combined score.

Which Toyota models have no published numeric iSeeCars score?

The following Toyota nameplates or variants are NR/NA in the research snapshot because iSeeCars marked the reliability data unavailable or coming soon. NR/NA means “not ranked” or “not available”; it is a data limitation, not a negative reliability finding.

Toyota nameplates listed as unavailable or coming soon in the iSeeCars research
Toyota nameplate or variant Published numeric iSeeCars score Correct interpretation
GR86 NR/NA No numeric score located
GR Supra NR/NA No numeric score located
Corolla Hatchback NR/NA No numeric score located
Corolla Cross NR/NA No numeric score located
GR Corolla NR/NA No numeric score located
Corolla Hybrid NR/NA No numeric score located
Grand Highlander NR/NA No numeric score located
Crown Signia NR/NA No numeric score located
Crown NR/NA No numeric score located
bZ4X NR/NA No numeric score located
bZ NR/NA No numeric score located

Toyota’s official U.S. lineup page uses 2026 names including bZ, bZ Woodland, C-HR, Corolla Cross Hybrid, Corolla Hatchback, Corolla Hybrid, Crown, Crown Signia, GR Corolla, GR Supra, GR86, and other Toyota cars, SUVs, trucks, and minivans. The official lineup and the iSeeCars table do not use a perfectly identical set of names, so an older bZ4X entry must not be silently substituted for the 2026 bZ Woodland. Toyota’s official 2026 vehicle lineup is the appropriate naming reference.

The same caution applies to C-HR and other newly named or newly introduced variants. A model may appear in Toyota’s 2026 lineup while still having no independent numeric reliability result in the available iSeeCars table. Publishing NR/NA is more accurate than assigning a score from a similarly named predecessor.

What does Consumer Reports say about 2026 Toyota reliability?

Consumer Reports ranked Toyota No. 1 among brands for 2026 new-car reliability. According to Consumer Reports (2026), the brand analysis used reliability and owner-satisfaction data from about 380,000 vehicles, while model predictions also draw on technical knowledge and prior model-year survey evidence.

Consumer Reports may supplement a model prediction with brand-level reliability information when a model-year sample is too small. That approach explains why a new redesign can receive a directional expectation without receiving a numeric predicted-reliability score.

Consumer Reports’ model-specific 2026 Toyota reliability findings in this research
Model Consumer Reports expectation Evidence basis or limitation
2026 4Runner Much more reliable than the average new car Prediction based on the 2025 redesigned model

2026 Tundra About average compared with the average new car Prediction based on 2023, 2024, and 2025 models
2026 RAV4 Expected to be more reliable than the average new car; no numeric predicted-reliability score reported New generation; expectation uses the prior generation and Toyota’s brand score

How reliable is the 2026 Toyota 4Runner?

Consumer Reports expects the 2026 Toyota 4Runner to be much more reliable than the average new car, with the prediction based on the 2025 redesigned model.

“We expect the 2026 4Runner will be much more reliable than the average new car.”

The 4Runner also receives an 8.1/10 iSeeCars score and appears among Toyota’s stronger available entries. The iSeeCars score and Consumer Reports expectation point in the same favorable direction, but they still measure different evidence.

How reliable is the 2026 Toyota Corolla?

Consumer Reports expects the 2026 Toyota Corolla to be more reliable than the average new car, basing the prediction on the 2023, 2024, and 2025 Corolla models.

The Corolla’s available iSeeCars score is 7.4/10. That score is lower than the Prius, Tacoma, 4Runner, and several other ranked Toyota nameplates, but Consumer Reports’ above-average prediction remains a positive model-specific signal.

How reliable is the 2026 Toyota Tundra?

Consumer Reports expects the 2026 Toyota Tundra to have about-average reliability compared with the average new car, using 2023, 2024, and 2025 Tundra models as the prediction basis.

“We expect the 2026 Tundra will have about average reliability when compared to the average new car.”
— Consumer Reports, 2026 Toyota Tundra reliability page

The Tundra’s iSeeCars score is 8.0/10, but the iSeeCars result does not cancel out Consumer Reports’ more cautious 2026 prediction. A buyer who prioritizes reliability should treat the Tacoma and Tundra as separate decisions rather than assuming that Toyota’s strong brand ranking makes every truck equally dependable.

Why does the 2026 RAV4 have no numeric reliability score?

The 2026 RAV4 has no numeric Consumer Reports predicted-reliability score because the model is a new redesign with limited direct model-year evidence; the absence of a number does not mean that Consumer Reports considers the RAV4 unreliable.

The 2026 RAV4 is offered strictly as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. Consumer Reports expects the vehicle to be more reliable than the average new car, using the prior generation and Toyota’s brand score, but Consumer Reports reports NA rather than a numeric prediction for the new generation. The 2026 RAV4 reliability page and Consumer Reports’ 2026 RAV4 Hybrid overview should therefore be read as an expectation with an evidence-age caveat, not as proof that the redesign will match the older RAV4’s ownership history.

iSeeCars lists the RAV4 at 7.8/10, but that value should not be presented as a direct test of the redesigned 2026 hybrid-only and plug-in-hybrid-only RAV4. Buyers who want the strongest possible evidence may prefer an established generation, while buyers who want the new RAV4 should acknowledge that reliability data will mature only after more owners accumulate experience.

Are the new Tacoma and Tundra reliable?

The available evidence favors the Tacoma over the Tundra for a reliability-focused truck purchase, although neither conclusion is based on a single common scoring system.

Truck-specific 2026 Toyota reliability context
Truck iSeeCars score Consumer Reports expectation J.D. Power context
Tacoma 8.2/10 No model-specific Consumer Reports prediction supplied in this research Highest-ranked model in the cited 2026 study
Tundra 8.0/10 About average compared with the average new car Not identified as the highest-ranked model in the cited result

The Tacoma has the stronger combination of available signals: an 8.2/10 iSeeCars score and the highest-ranked-model result in the cited J.D. Power study. The Tundra still has a solid 8.0/10 iSeeCars score, but Consumer Reports’ about-average 2026 prediction is a meaningful caution for buyers who place reliability above towing capacity, size, or other truck requirements.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What did J.D. Power’s 2026 dependability study find?

J.D. Power’s 2026 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study measures problems reported by owners of three-year-old vehicles, so the study is a lagging dependability measure rather than a direct prediction for a brand-new 2026 Toyota.

The official study was released on February 12, 2026, and J.D. Power requires adequate sample size before giving a model award. In coverage of the cited study, the Toyota Tacoma was the highest-ranked model, while the Corolla, Camry, Tacoma, Sienna, and 4Runner were reported as Toyota segment winners.

J.D. Power’s relevant 2026 study context
Toyota model or group Reported result What the result does and does not show
Tacoma Highest-ranked model in the cited study Strong three-year-owner dependability result; not a direct test of a new 2026 vehicle
Corolla, Camry, Tacoma, Sienna, and 4Runner Reported Toyota segment winners Segment recognition in the cited study coverage; results come from vehicles with three years of owner history
2026 RAV4 Absent from model awards The redesign did not yet have three-year reliability data; absence is not a poor-reliability rating

Read the official 2026 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study for the study’s methodology. The model-result summary is also reported in coverage of the 2026 J.D. Power study. J.D. Power’s results are especially useful for identifying models with established owner history, but they should not be used to rank a new redesign against a mature model as if both had identical evidence.

How should you choose a 2026 Toyota if reliability matters most?

Choose the model with the strongest evidence for your vehicle role, then adjust for generation maturity and powertrain rather than selecting solely by the highest number.

  1. For the highest available numeric score: start with the Land Cruiser at 8.8/10 on iSeeCars, while remembering that the result is not a Consumer Reports prediction or a direct 2026 model-year test.
  2. For a pickup: the Tacoma has an 8.2/10 iSeeCars score and the strongest cited J.D. Power result; the Tundra’s 8.0/10 score is paired with Consumer Reports’ about-average 2026 expectation.
  3. For an off-road SUV: the 4Runner combines an 8.1/10 iSeeCars score with Consumer Reports’ much-more-reliable-than-average expectation for 2026.
  4. For a family SUV: the Highlander Hybrid scores 8.2/10 on iSeeCars, while the regular Highlander scores 7.7/10; compare the exact powertrain and equipment rather than treating the two as identical vehicles.
  5. For a car: the Prius scores 8.0/10 on iSeeCars, while Consumer Reports specifically expects the Corolla to be more reliable than the average new car.
  6. For the redesigned RAV4: treat the positive Consumer Reports expectation and the 7.8/10 iSeeCars listing as useful context, but do not claim that the redesigned 2026 RAV4 has a mature numeric model-year reliability record.
  7. For an NR/NA model: do not infer failure from missing data. Decide whether you are comfortable buying before a normal volume of model-specific owner evidence exists.

What do reliability ratings leave out?

Reliability ratings describe population-level history or a statistical prediction; they do not diagnose the individual Toyota sitting on a dealer’s lot or in a private seller’s driveway.

Before buying, compare the exact model year, generation, engine, transmission, hybrid system, plug-in system, or battery-electric powertrain. A conventional hybrid, plug-in hybrid, turbocharged engine, and battery-electric vehicle can present different maintenance and failure considerations even when they share a Toyota badge. The iSeeCars table’s separate treatment of some variants is a reminder not to assume that every powertrain has identical evidence.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Consumer Reports tracks problem areas including engines, transmissions, electric motors, EV charging, brakes, electrical accessories, and in-car electronics. A high reliability ranking is not a substitute for checking the vehicle identification number for open recalls, confirming completed recall repairs, reviewing maintenance records, and arranging an independent pre-purchase inspection.

An OBD2 scanner can retrieve stored diagnostic trouble codes and help investigate a warning light before a repair-shop visit, but an OBD2 scanner does not predict long-term reliability and does not replace a professional inspection. For maintenance research, use the exact Toyota model and year when consulting a repair manual, follow the manufacturer’s scheduled maintenance requirements, and verify that any Toyota Genuine Parts are correct for the specific vehicle.

When should these 2026 Toyota reliability ratings be rechecked?

Recheck the ranking if publication is delayed more than 30 days, or sooner if Consumer Reports updates a model score, iSeeCars changes its Toyota table, J.D. Power revises its study, Toyota changes its U.S. lineup, or a significant recall changes the ownership context.

The most important updates are likely to affect newly redesigned vehicles such as the 2026 RAV4 and newly named lineup entries such as bZ Woodland and C-HR, because additional owner data can change the difference between a directional expectation and a mature model-specific score. Amazon product availability, pricing, vehicle compatibility, and any affiliate-program status also require separate verification before a commercial product recommendation is published.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: The Land Cruiser leads the available iSeeCars ranking at 8.8/10, while the Tacoma is the strongest truck choice across the cited iSeeCars and J.D. Power evidence. Toyota is Consumer Reports’ No. 1 brand for 2026 new-car reliability, but the redesigned RAV4 and other NR/NA models should be treated as data-limited rather than assigned an invented score.
