Toyota has not said the vehicle or its custom parts are for sale. The concept pairs the production hybrid powertrain with a purple wrap, lifted suspension, all-terrain tires and custom cargo and roof equipment.
What is the Nasu Edition?
Toyota’s Service Parts and Accessories Development (SPAD) team designed and built the Nasu Edition as a special project prototype based on the 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid. Toyota announced it on October 21, 2025, ahead of its planned SEMA appearance. The name references Japan’s Mt. Nasu; Toyota also notes that “nasu” is a Japanese verb meaning “to achieve.” Toyota’s announcement presents the vehicle as a bespoke concept, not a new trim in the Corolla Cross lineup.
Toyota representatives described the project as a demonstration of the model’s potential. Steve Park, senior product planner for Toyota and Lexus Vehicle Accessories, said, “The Corolla Cross is one of the most versatile vehicles in our lineup, and the Nasu Edition shows how much further it can go.” That is Toyota’s characterization of the concept, not an independently measured claim about capability.
Can you buy the Nasu Edition?
Toyota’s announcement does not offer the Nasu Edition for sale or confirm that its custom package will become a retail product. The company calls it a special project prototype and warns that modifications may not be Toyota-available parts, may affect warranty coverage, performance or safety, and may not be street legal. The concept’s appearance is therefore not confirmation that the parts are approved for, or suitable to install on, a production Corolla Cross Hybrid.

What was changed for the concept?
Exterior, wheels and suspension
The concept wears a custom purple wrap inspired by “eggplant,” another meaning Toyota associates with nasu. Its one-off bodywork includes a modified hood scoop. Custom Toyota truck wheels are paired with Toyo Open Country A/T III all-terrain tires, and a custom-made suspension lift adds clearance. Toyota does not state a tire size or verify that these wheels, tires or suspension components fit a retail Corolla Cross.
Other exterior details include rock sliders, modified lightbars and fog lamps, illuminated door sills, puddle lamps and cargo sills. A modified articulating roof rack and cargo basket carry a custom downhill mountain bike secured to a roof bike rack.

Cargo and fabrication
Inside the cargo area, a custom drawer system organizes storage, while a refrigerator sits on a sliding tray. Toyota says SPAD used CAD design, 3D printing, CNC machining and assembly across multiple locations to bring the build together. Those methods help explain the project’s bespoke construction; they do not establish that its components are commercially available.
What powertrain does it use?
Toyota says the Nasu retains the 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid’s 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine integrated with three electric motors, producing 196 combined horsepower and driving all four wheels. These are Toyota’s stated specifications for the concept’s retained powertrain, not independent test results.

For the production 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid, Toyota lists 196 net combined horsepower, standard all-wheel drive and a manufacturer-estimated 42 combined MPG rating. The fuel-economy figure applies to the production model; Toyota has not published a Nasu-specific MPG result. Toyota’s production-model announcement also describes 2026 updates such as revised front fascia treatments, an updated interior console and an available 10.5-inch touchscreen.

Toyota scheduled the Nasu Edition for the 2025 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, November 4–7, 2025, at Toyota’s Central Hall booth, No. 22200. Those dates have passed. Toyota’s 2025 SEMA Show event page lists the event information.
