Those prices and range figures describe different markets, dates and test cycles—not a direct price or range comparison. The update brings adaptive suspension, forged 21-inch wheels, sport seats, a 16-inch display and carbon-fiber cabin trim.
When did the 2026 Model Y Performance launch?
Tesla announced the refreshed Performance in Europe on August 29, 2025. Tesla says the Europe-bound vehicle is built at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. The “2026” label refers to the model year, not a launch in calendar year 2026. U.S. orders followed in October 2025.

How much does it cost in Europe and the U.S.?
Notebookcheck reported a European launch price of €62,990. Car and Driver reported a U.S. starting price of $59,130 when U.S. orders opened. These are launch-era reports from different markets, not current guaranteed quotes or like-for-like prices. Currency conversion alone would not account for differences in taxes, incentives, equipment or market pricing.

What range and performance figures did Tesla publish?
Tesla’s UK launch announcement lists 360 miles WLTP, 460 horsepower, 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds and a 155 mph top speed. Tesla also lists consumption of 26.07 kWh/100 mi. The range and consumption are manufacturer figures, not a promise of what an individual driver will achieve.

For the U.S., Car and Driver reported a 308-mile EPA estimate at launch. Tesla’s U.S. Model Y page displays 306 miles when accessed October 7, 2026. The 360-mile WLTP figure and U.S. EPA estimates use different test cycles and should not be read as contradictory measurements or compared as if they were measured on the same basis.
The “longer range” description also needs a specific comparison: Notebookcheck reported 580 km WLTP for the Performance and 586 km WLTP for the Long Range AWD. The Performance therefore does not have the longest range of every Model Y variant.

What changes on the Performance trim?
Chassis, wheels and exterior
The refreshed Performance adds adaptive suspension and forged 21-inch wheels. Its revised front and rear fascias and carbon-fiber rear spoiler are exterior changes. Tesla says aerodynamic drag is 10% lower and lift is reduced by 64% compared with earlier Model Y Performance vehicles; those are Tesla’s comparisons, not independent tests of real-world efficiency.
Cabin and display
Inside, the trim has carbon-fiber inserts on the dashboard and doors, Performance front seats with powered thigh-cushion extenders, and a 16-inch center display. Tesla says the 16-inch display has nearly 80% more pixels than the 15.4-inch screen in other Model Y variants. The carbon-fiber spoiler is outside the cabin and should not be confused with the interior trim.

How to interpret the launch comparisons
- Price: €62,990 is a reported European launch price; $59,130 is a reported U.S. launch starting price. They are market-specific, dated figures.
- Range: The European announcement quotes WLTP; U.S. figures are EPA estimates. Keep the cycle and source date attached to each number.
- Model year: The 2026 label does not change the fact that the European announcement came in August 2025 and U.S. orders followed in October 2025.
- Equipment: Tesla’s specified Performance additions include adaptive suspension, 21-inch forged wheels, sport seats, the larger display and carbon-fiber elements.
