The 2026 Subaru WRX starts at $32,495 in the U.S. for the returning Base trim, or $33,690 with Subaru’s listed $1,195 destination and delivery charge. The headline price is lower than the 2025 WRX’s $35,750 entry price, but that is not a like-for-like cut: Subaru dropped the Base for 2025, making the Premium the entry trim. Subaru also reports lower prices for several returning 2026 trims, though those comparisons need to be treated as the automaker’s figures rather than assumed to be independent, configuration-matched calculations.
2026 Subaru WRX prices by trim
These are Subaru of America’s U.S. suggested retail prices from its price sheet dated January 20, 2026. MSRP excludes taxes and licensing; destination and delivery is listed separately. Subaru says its retail prices include pre-delivery services. The final amount can also change with regional destination charges, dealer add-ons, and the negotiated selling price.
| 2026 WRX trim | Transmission | MSRP | Destination and delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | 6-speed manual | $32,495 | $1,195 listed; $33,690 including that charge |
| Premium | 6-speed manual | $33,995 | $1,195 listed |
| Premium option package | 6-speed manual | $1,865 additional | Added to Premium price |
| Limited | 6-speed manual | $38,995 | $1,195 listed |
| Limited | Subaru Performance Transmission (SPT) | $39,995 | $1,195 listed |
| GT | SPT | $44,995 | $1,195 listed |
| tS | 6-speed manual | $44,995 | $1,195 listed |
| Series.Yellow | 6-speed manual | $45,995 | $1,195 listed |
Destination and delivery may vary in Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont; Subaru lists $1,345 for Alaska. Taxes, title, license, dealer add-ons, and any price negotiation are not included in the figures above. See Subaru’s 2026 WRX price sheet and 2026 pricing announcement.
Is the 2026 WRX really cheaper than the 2025?
The starting price is down, but the comparison changes trims
Subaru discontinued the WRX Base for 2025, leaving the Premium as the entry model at $35,750 MSRP. The 2026 Base returns at $32,495, a $3,255 difference between the two model years’ starting prices. Because the 2025 figure is for a Premium and the 2026 figure is for a Base, that arithmetic is not a like-for-like price reduction. Subaru explained the 2025 trim decision by saying few buyers chose Base the prior year, while nearly half opted for features found on Premium; that is Subaru’s explanation, not an independently verified sales statistic. The automaker’s 2025 announcement is available at Subaru’s 2025 WRX pricing release.

Subaru’s stated cuts for returning trims
Subaru’s 2026 announcement says these returning trims have lower starting prices than their 2025 counterparts:
| Trim and configuration | Reduction stated by Subaru |
|---|---|
| Premium | $3,755 |
| Limited, 6-speed manual | $3,135 |
| Limited, SPT | $3,685 |
| GT | $2,710 |
| tS | $2,710 |
These are Subaru’s stated comparisons. In particular, the stated Premium reduction does not equal a simple subtraction from the $35,750 2025 Premium entry price. Before treating any amount as an independently calculated cut, compare the same trim and equipment package on the official model-year price sheets.

Which 2026 WRX is the value choice?
There is no single value winner without knowing which features and transmission matter most. The Base is the lowest-cost route to the WRX’s standard engine, all-wheel drive, and manual transmission. Premium costs $1,500 more in MSRP and is the step to consider if its available audio-and-moonroof package matters. Limited is the comfort- and convenience-focused choice, while GT, tS, and Series.Yellow add specific performance or equipment upgrades at substantially higher MSRPs.
- Choose Base if the priority is the lowest manufacturer-listed price and a manual WRX.
- Choose Premium if you want the option to add Harman Kardon audio and a moonroof without stepping up to Limited.
- Compare Limited manual and SPT if you want its additional convenience features and prefer to choose between transmission types.
- Look at GT or tS for their distinct seat, ride-control, or braking hardware rather than for a lower entry price.
- Check Series.Yellow availability before making it a purchase assumption; Subaru limits the edition to 350 units.
What to verify before buying
- Use Subaru’s U.S. price sheet to confirm the MSRP and destination charge for the exact trim and options you want.
- Ask the dealer for a written quote that separates vehicle price, destination, taxes, title, license, and dealer-installed or dealer-added items.
- Compare 2025 and 2026 vehicles with the same trim and equipment, not just the two model years’ entry prices.
- Check local inventory and confirm that a Series.Yellow allocation, if relevant, is actually available.
