Ram still advertises the engine on select 2026 models, but that does not confirm a truck is in stock at any particular dealership. Availability depends on trim and configuration.
When did the 2026 Ram 1500 HEMI arrive at dealers?
Stellantis announced the HEMI’s return on June 5, 2025, said U.S. orders were open, and forecast the first dealer arrivals for that summer. On September 25, 2025, Modern Work Truck Solutions reported that the first HEMI-equipped 2026 trucks had left Sterling Heights Assembly Plant and were headed to dealers around the country. That report documents the initial shipment, not current dealership inventory.
As of October 7, 2026, Ram’s U.S. product information continues to advertise the HEMI on select 2026 Ram 1500 models. Check the live builder or contact a local dealer to confirm whether a specific trim and configuration can be ordered or is in stock.
Which 2026 Ram 1500 trims offer the HEMI?
Ram’s June 2025 U.S. announcement listed the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with eTorque for Tradesman, Big Horn, Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel, Limited and Longhorn. Rebel was identified as late availability. Trim and ordering availability can change, so treat that list as the launch announcement rather than a guarantee of current stock.

In a later announcement dated March 27, 2026, Ram said the HEMI eTorque was among the powertrain options for the Big Horn, Laramie and Rebel America250 editions. This is a specific special-edition offering, not a replacement for checking the configuration you want.
U.S. HEMI specs and towing figures
For U.S. models, Stellantis and Ram publish 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque for the 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Their towing figures vary by publication and date:

Do not treat either towing maximum as a rating for every HEMI truck, or combine the two figures as if they describe one configuration. For a particular vehicle, check its specific tow rating and payload label alongside cab, drivetrain, equipment and engine. Ram’s capability page also lists Hurricane options, but lineup-wide maximums alone are not a like-for-like comparison.
What eTorque does
Ram describes eTorque as a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It replaces the traditional engine-mounted alternator with a belt-driven motor generator and battery. The system supports stop/start, can add torque in certain driving conditions, and recovers energy during braking. Stellantis says up to 130 lb-ft can be available at initial throttle tip-in. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent test results.

U.S. and Middle East specifications are different
Ram’s September 17, 2026 Middle East announcement names HEMI-powered 2026 Rebel and Limited models for that region. It lists 395 hp and 556 Nm of torque (about 410 lb-ft), with up to 5,266 kg towing, 748 kg payload and a 125-liter fuel tank. Those are regional figures and should not be substituted for U.S. specifications or assumed to describe U.S. equipment.
The Middle East Rebel equipment description also mentions Mopar rubber floor mats. That is an accessory reference for the regional model, not confirmation of U.S. trim equipment or fitment. Check year, cab, trim and market before buying any mats.

Why Ram brought the HEMI back
At the June 2025 announcement, then-Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said, “Everyone makes mistakes, but how you handle them defines you. Ram screwed up when we dropped the HEMI — we own it and we fixed it,” according to Stellantis. The remark is the company’s explanation of its decision, not an independent assessment of the engine or lineup.
