Nissan’s tribute draws on the fourth-generation 300ZX, known as the Z32, through Midnight Purple paint, bronze wheels and other distinctive details. The current Z keeps its own modern powertrain and specifications.
What comes with the 2026 Nissan Z Heritage Edition?
Nissan lists the Heritage Edition as an option for the 2026 Z Performance. Its additions are appearance and cabin details:
- Midnight Purple exterior color
- Bronze 19-inch RAYS wheels
- Exterior vinyl graphics
- Carbon spoiler with a Twin Turbo badge
- Exclusive kick plate
- Exclusive floor mats
The package’s name and styling point to the Z32 300ZX, but Nissan describes it as a tribute rather than a re-creation of that car.
How much does the Heritage Edition package cost?
Nissan North America’s September 9, 2025 press kit lists a suggested package price of $2,940. That published figure excludes tax, title, license and destination charges; Nissan notes that dealer pricing may differ. It is not a live quote.

- Detailed Tamiya plastic model kit
- Requires assembly - paint and glue NOT included
- Illustrated instructions are included
- High accuracy of fit and high quality of individual components.
The same press kit lists base suggested prices of $42,970 for the 2026 Z Sport and $52,970 for the Performance grade. Those figures do not include the Heritage package or destination charge, so they should not be treated as the total price of a Heritage-equipped car. Check with a dealer for current package availability and a complete price.
Which 300ZX does the new Z pay tribute to?
The reference is the fourth-generation Nissan Z, the 300ZX Z32. Nissan dates the Z32’s launch to July 1989 and describes its shape as having wide proportions, a slanted nose and a forward cabin. The generation was offered in two-seat and 2+2 configurations.
The Heritage Edition translates some of that era’s visual character into a contemporary package: the purple exterior, bronze wheels, graphics and Twin Turbo badge are cues, not evidence that the 2026 Z shares the Z32’s platform or powertrain.
How does the Heritage Edition relate to the current Z’s performance?
The Heritage package is listed for the Z Performance grade. Nissan’s September 2025 press kit specifies a 3.0-liter VR30DDTT twin-turbo V6 for the 2026 Z; in Sport and Performance grades it is rated at 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Both grades are available with a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.

- Detailed model kit in scale 1:24.
- , tools, glue and paints are not included in the box contents of the plastic kit. These must be purchased optionally.
- International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions.
The Z NISMO is a separate grade, not the Heritage Edition’s listed base. Nissan rates it at 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft, with a NISMO-tuned nine-speed automatic. Those figures describe the NISMO, not the Heritage-equipped Performance.
How the modern Z and historical 300ZX figures differ
Nissan’s heritage page gives a 1992 North American 300ZX twin-turbo example with a 2,960 cc VG30DETT V6 rated at 280 PS and 388 Nm. These are historical figures for that specific Z32 configuration; they are not specifications for the 2026 Z. Because Nissan reports them in different units from the modern Z ratings, they should not be read as a direct like-for-like comparison.
