The Australia-market fifth-generation D27 is a dual-cab 4×4 with a 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel, a six-speed automatic and four grades: SL, ST, ST-X and PRO-4X. Nissan announced Australian prices in February 2026 and said showroom arrivals were due in March.
When was the new Nissan Navara revealed?
Nissan New Zealand announced on 15 October 2025 that the next-generation Navara would be globally unveiled on 19 November 2025. Nissan Australia subsequently published the vehicle’s 2026 specifications and pricing, confirming that the reveal has taken place. What are the Australian 2026 Navara D27 specifications?
The Australian-market D27 range uses a 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel producing 150 kW and 470 Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic. Nissan Australia lists a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity across all four grades. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results. Nissan’s 2026 press kit and its pricing and specifications announcement set out the figures.
Which grades are available, and what do they cost?
Nissan Australia’s 5 February 2026 announcement listed these starting prices for the Australian dual-cab 4×4 range. They are manufacturer-published Australian prices; final dealer prices, on-road costs and current availability may differ.

How do the grades differ?
SL and ST
SL and ST use Nissan’s Easy 4×4 system with a dual-range transfer case. Nissan’s press kit describes a shared suspension tune for these two grades. A factory-fitted sports bar is listed as standard on ST; do not assume it is included on SL.

ST-X
ST-X steps up to Super 4×4, which adds a Torsen centre differential and seven terrain modes. It has its own suspension tune, distinct from the SL/ST setup and the PRO-4X tune.
PRO-4X
PRO-4X also uses Super 4×4 and receives a separate suspension tune. Nissan lists a standard towbar, roof rails, wheel-arch flares and all-terrain tyres for this grade. Its press kit also identifies the factory-fitted sports bar as standard on PRO-4X.

Nissan’s equipment material also mentions a tub liner and tailgate assist, but confirm grade-specific fitment with the Australian specification sheet or dealer before treating either as standard. What does Premcar’s involvement mean?
Nissan says local engineering specialist Premcar developed and tuned the D27’s suspension for Australian conditions. The press kit identifies three suspension tunes across the range: one for SL and ST, one for ST-X and one for PRO-4X. Nissan also reports that the local engineering program included an 18,500 km sign-off trip. These are Nissan’s descriptions of its development program, not independent comparative findings.

Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director of Nissan Oceania, said Nissan partnered with Premcar “to ensure the new Navara is the most capable and refined we’ve ever offered.” That is the manufacturer’s stated aim, rather than an independent assessment of how the vehicle compares with rivals. Nissan Australia’s press kit also reports close to 500,000 Navaras sold across Australia and New Zealand since December 1986. Separately, Nissan’s Australian pricing release says more than 425,000 have been sold in Australia since local deliveries began in December 1986; the figures cover different geographies and should not be conflated.

No. Nissan announced a Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid for the Philippines on 4 June 2026, describing it as an export model from China. The announcement said technical specifications and further details would follow closer to launch. It does not establish that the hybrid is the same specification as Australia’s diesel D27.
